If you are a football fanatic living in India, these are exciting times. The kick-off to the FIFA U-17 World Cup is two days away and India U-17 team is all set to take on USA, Colombia and Ghana in their group stage games in Delhi.

India are coached by Portugal-born Luis Norton de Matos, who took charge earlier this year in March. The 63-year-old former Benfica youth coach replaced German coach Nicolai Adam, who left his position under virulent circumstances involving the players.

Luis Norton has made several additions to the U17 World Cup squad in the short space of time he's been afforded. How does his short tenure stand up against the relatively large period under Nicolai Adam, who built the core of the squad since 2015? Let's find out.

Nicolai Adam left his position as India U-17 head coach in January 2017. He was replaced by Luis Norton de Matos and since then India has played 24 matches.

As goalkeeper Dheeraj Singh revealed to Goal, Norton gives priority to keeping the ball and taking more risks with it on the field. With the team set to take on the United States in the tournament opener in Delhi on Friday, Norton and his boys will be hoping they can execute their plans successfully. The whole of India will be watching!
