Fantasy Football Start 'Em Sit 'Em: Week 11 lineup advice, best matchups, DFS picks image

Week 11 means we're entering crunch time in the 2023 fantasy football season. As NFL teams are playing deep into November, injury attrition continues to affect player availability. The bye weeks also haven't gone away with four teams off. All of that is conspiring to make start 'em, sit 'em decisions as difficult as they've been all season.

Fortunately, this bye isn't nearly as bad as last week's with the Colts, Patriots, Saints, and Falcons out of action, that's still no access to Jonathan Taylor, Michael Pittman Jr., Josh Downs, Rhamondre Stevenson, Demario Douglas, Alvin Kamara, Chris Olave, Taysom Hill, Bijan Robinson, Drake London, and Kyle Pitts.

That's several more key fantasy performers out again, but The Decider, aka Vinnie Iyer, is back with the rankings, recommendations, information, and insight you need to make the right lineup decisions in Week 11.

Fantasy Football Week 11 Start 'Em: Quarterbacks

Must starts

  1. Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs (vs. PHI)
  2. Dak Prescott, Cowboys (at CAR)
  3. Jalen Hurts, Eagles (at KC)
  4. C.J. Stroud, Texans (vs. ARI)
  5. Josh Allen, Bills (vs. NYJ)
  6. Justin Herbert, Chargers (at GB)
  7. Joe Burrow, Bengals (at BAL)

Stronger starts

8. Lamar Jackson, Ravens (vs. CIN). He can be frustrating as a boom-or-bust play, but positive TD regression will happen here as he gets at least two scores with 250 combined yards opposite Joe Burrow.

9. Kyler Murray, Cardinals (at HOU). He's healthy and should have had a second TD last week. Murray will be up to the task with his arm and legs in his duel with C.J. Stroud.

10. Brock Purdy, 49ers (vs. TB). He might not need to throw a ton in a positive game script, but he made it count with big plays last week and always performs better at home.

11. Jared Goff, Lions (vs. CHI). Goff should throw a couple of scores here before the running game and defense feasts at home.

12. Josh Dobbs, Vikings (at DEN). Dobbs is doing it as a dual threat and will come through again against an improved Broncos' defense on the road, regardless of Justin Jefferson's status.

13. Sam Howell, Commanders (vs. NYG). Howell is an almost-every-week QB because of Washington's ridiculous pass-happiness, so even if his numbers are somewhat limited against a bad team, he still needs to be started.

14. Tua Tagovailoa, Dolphins (at LV). The Dolphins would be smart to go run-heavier, but Tagovailoa's ceiling is too high to bench.

15. Jordan Love, Packers (vs. LAC). Love got hot again at the right time ahead of this plus matchup.

DFS picks

C.J. Stroud, Texans (vs. ARI, $7,000 DraftKings, $8,000 FanDuel). This is a strong week to pay up for Stroud, as the presence of a legitimate Cardinals' offense on the other side can turn this into a high-volume home shootout for him.

Aidan O'Connell, Raiders (at MIA, $4,000 DraftKings, $6,500 FanDuel). He's a better value than Tommy DeVito overall, and he has a lot more upside with his key weapons in what should be a negative game script in a fine matchup for the passing game.

WEEK 11 STANDARD RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers

Fantasy Football Week 11 Sit 'Em: Quarterbacks

Weaker starts

16. Justin Fields, Bears (at DET). Fields (thumb) should finally return, only to face a Lions defense that tends to ball out at home overall.

17. Geno Smith, Seahawks (at LAR). The Rams' defense should be tricky after the bye, and this could easily be a grind-it-out divisional game on the road.

18. Trevor Lawrence, Jaguars (vs. TEN). He's just not getting it done with big numbers, and now he's putting up small ones. Let him get well before trusting him again.

19. Russell Wilson, Broncos (vs. MIN). He has an OK shot at two TDs, but keep in mind the Vikings' defensive improvements are for real.

20 Matthew Stafford, Rams (vs. SEA). His return can help facilitate get-well games for Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, but we've seen that not mean much for his fantasy value.

21. Baker Mayfield, Buccaneers (at SF). The 49ers' defense got its groove back on the road last week, so this is a good week to keep Baker out of the oven.

22. Will Levis, Titans (at JAX). Levis' love is waning fast after his rookie debut and this isn't a spot to turn it around behind his shaky line.

DK lineup | FD lineup | Best values | Best stacks

Fantasy Football Week 11 Start 'Em: Running backs

Must starts

  1. Christian McCaffrey, 49ers (vs. TB)
  2. Austin Ekeler, Chargers (at GB)
  3. Travis Etienne, Jaguars (vs. TEN)
  4. Raheem Mostert, Dolphins (vs. LV)
  5. De'Von Achane, Dolphins (vs. LV)
  6. David Montgomery, Lions (vs. CHI)
  7. Jahmyr Gibbs, Lions (vs, CHI)
  8. Josh Jacobs, Raiders (at MIA)
  9. James Conner, Cardinals (at HOU)
  10. Breece Hall, Jets (at BUF)
  11. Kenneth Walker, Seahawks (at LAR)
  12. Javonte Williams, Broncos (vs. MIN)
  13. Tony Pollard, Cowboys (at CAR)
  14. Saquon Barkley, Giants (at WAS)
  15. Aaron Jones, Packers (vs. LAC)
  16. Joe Mixon, Bengals (at BAL)
  17. Derrick Henry, Titans (at JAX)
  18. D'Andre Swift, Eagles (at KC)

Stronger starts

19. Brian Robinson Jr., Commanders (vs. NYG). He should get a ton of work, finally, as the Commanders enjoy rare success on the ground in what should be a home romp.

20. Devin Singletary, Texans (vs. ARI). He's hot, and the Cardinals' porous run defense keeps him humming at home.

21. Rachaad White, Buccaneers (at SF). This matchup isn't great overall, but he can get involved well in the passing game on checkdowns to put up a nice garbage-time day.

22. Gus Edwards, Ravens (vs. CIN). Stick with the Bus scoring again as the most consistent Ravens back.

23 Kareem Hunt and 24. Jerome Ford, Browns (vs. PIT). Hunt keeps on scoring with his tough running, and a healthy Ford is getting it done for rushing chunks, too.

25. Darrell Henderson Jr, Rams (vs. SEA). He is the best bet over Royce Freeman to be productive for one more week before Kyren Williams (ankle) returns.

26. Jaylen Warren and 27. Najee Harris, Steelers (at CLE). They have been a dynamic scrimmage and scoring duo the past two weeks and will help the Steelers grind out a win here again.

DFS Picks

David Montgomery, Lions (vs. CHI, $6,500 DraftKings, $7,700 FanDuel). It's a revenge game in a sweet matchup at home after he delivered a massive game coming back from injury last week. Detroit also should be in a positive game script so he can play more compared to Jahmyr Gibbs.

Raheem Mostert, Dolphins (vs. LV, $6,900 DraftKings, $7,800 FanDuel). Achane (knee) may return for this smash spot, but Miami should be careful with his initial usage. Mostert should get a healthy dose of high-leverage touches again, and the Raiders can't stop much on the ground.

WEEK 11 PPR RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers

Fantasy Football Week 11 Sit 'Em: Running backs

Weaker starts

28. Isiah Pacheco, Chiefs (vs. PHI). It's very difficult to run on the Eagles, so Jerick McKinnon might have more (albeit still limited) value.

29. Keaton Mitchell, Ravens (vs. CIN). He's completely big-play dependent and gets limited touches, making him a risky boom-or-bust dice-roll.

30. James Cook, Bills (at NYJ). He's on the verge of losing his job with ineffectiveness and fumbling despite the good spot.

31. Chuba Hubbard, Panthers (vs. DAL). He should find it hard to run on the Cowboys, which could mean more Miles Sanders, too.

32. Khalil Herbert and 33. D'Onta Foreman, Bears (at DET). The Lions are a mighty run defense at times, especially at home, and the split between them and Roschon Johnson doesn't inspire.

34. AJ Dillon, Packers (vs. LAC). He ran well last week and the Chargers did leak against the run in Week 9, but the game script will call for more Aaron Jones with Jordan Love passing a lot.

WEEK 11 FANTASY ADVICE: Sleepers | Busts | Projections

Fantasy Football Week 11 Start 'Em: Wide receivers

Must starts

  1. CeeDee Lamb, Cowboys (at CAR)
  2. Tyreek Hill, Dolphins (vs. LV)
  3. Amon-Ra St. Brown, Lions (vs. CHI)
  4. A.J. Brown, Eagles (at KC)
  5. Ja'Marr Chase, Bengals (at BAL)
  6. Brandon Aiyuk, 49ers (vs. TB)
  7. Mike Evans, Buccaneers (at SF)
  8. Keenan Allen, Chargers (at GB)
  9. Stefon Diggs, Bills (vs. NYJ)
  10. DJ Moore, Bears (at DET)
  11. Christian Kirk, Jaguars (vs. TEN)
  12. Deebo Samuel, 49ers (vs. TB)
  13. DK Metcalf, Seahawks (at LAR)
  14. Garrett Wilson, Jets (at BUF)
  15. Davante Adams, Raiders (at MIA)
  16. Jaylen Waddle, Dolphins (vs. LV)
  17. DeVonta Smith, Eagles (at KC)
  18. Courtland Sutton, Broncos (vs. MIN)
  19. Terry McLaurin, Commanders (at SEA)
  20. Amari Cooper, Browns (vs. PIT)
  21. Tyler Lockett, Seahawks (at LAR)
  22. Adam Thielen, Panthers (vs. DAL)
  23. Cooper Kupp, Rams (vs. SEA)
  24. Puka Nacua, Rams (vs. SEA)
  25. Diontae Johnson, Steelers (vs. CLE)

Stronger starts

26. Rashee Rice, Chiefs (vs. PHI). Rice should have his best game yet with a smash spot in the slot vs. a bad cornerback pass defense.

27. Nico Collins, Texans (vs. ARI). He should be viable for big things again in this matchup with Noah Brown (knee) ailing.

28. Brandin Cooks, Cowboys (at CAR). The Panthers' cornerbacks will be overmatched overall beyond CeeDee Lamb.

29. Tank Dell, Texans (vs. ARI). He'll keep it going no matter who's healthy for Houston.

30. Zay Flowers, Ravens (vs. CIN). This is a sweet inside-outside spot for the rookie.

31. Jayden Reed, Packers (vs. LAC). This is another sweet inside-outside spot for the rookie.

32. Jakobi Meyers, Raiders (at MIA). He should get going along with Aidan O'Connell in a negative game script.

33. Jahan Dotson, Commanders (vs. NYG). Try again with Dotson because the Giants can't cover him, regardless of Adoree' Jackson's health. The key will be a shaky pass rush allowing Sam Howell time to throw more downfield.

34. Chris Godwin, Buccaneers (at SF). Godwin should get it done with volume outside and inside, so expect a high-floor game.

DFS picks

Davante Adams, Raiders (at MIA, $7,900 DraftKings, $7,600 FanDuel). Adams got greased well by Aidan O'Connell last week, and he should build on that to have a big game with high volume vs. the Dolphins. That's a sneaky stack with an affordable QB.

Brandon Aiyuk, 49ers (vs. TB, $7,200 DraftKings, $7,800 FanDuel). Aiyuk, Aiyuk, Aiyuk wasn't on fire totally vs. the Jaguars, but he had a nice game with a TD on limited looks. He can torch the Buccaneers for a bigger outing at home, maybe this time with two scores.

Amari Cooper, Browns (vs. PIT, $6,200 DraftKings, $7,300 FanDuel). Deshaun Watson is playing really well in reality, and he's making Cooper the focal point. This is a good inside-outside matchup for Cooper, and he has a great shot for 3X return.

Fantasy Football Week 11 Sit 'Em: Wide receivers

Weaker starts

35. Jordan Addison, Vikings (at DEN). Check Justin Jefferson (hamstring), but there's a chance Addison could be stopped by savvy Patrick Surtain II.

36. Calvin Ridley, Jaguars (vs. TEN). Like Trevor Lawrence, you need to see to believe even against a good secondary.

37. DeAndre Hopkins, Titans (at JAX). He's disappeared the past two weeks with Will Levis taking lumps, so avoid this again.

38. Marquise Brown, Cardinals (at HOU). He was contained by the Falcons' cornerbacks last week, and this isn't a good spot, either.

39. Gabe Davis, Bills (vs. NYJ). He's disappointing with drops, and now there are clear better options behind Stefon Diggs.

40. George Pickens, Steelers (at CLE). Pickens will be quieted even with Denzel Ward (neck) hurting.

41. Romeo Doubs, Packers (vs. LAC). It's a great spot for Jayden Reed but meh for Doubs.

42. Jerry Jeudy, Broncos (vs. MIN). The Vikings aren't great in the slot, but they are getting better at containing No. 2 wideouts.

43. Tyler Boyd, Bengals (at BAL). The drops kept his big game from becoming massive last week, but he won't get his in the slot this week either way.

44. Christian Watson, Packers (vs. LAC). It's elementary you can't trust him.

Fantasy Football Week 11 Start 'Em: Tight ends

Must starts

  1. T.J. Hockenson, Vikings (at DEN)
  2. Travis Kelce, Chiefs (vs. PHI)
  3. Mark Andrews, Ravens (vs. CIN)
  4. Dalton Kincaid, Bills (vs. NYJ)
  5. Sam LaPorta, Lions (vs. CHI)
  6. George Kittle, 49ers (vs. TB)
  7. Dalton Schultz, Texans (vs. ARI)
  8. Trey McBride, Cardinals (at HOU)

Stronger starts

9. Jake Ferguson, Cowboys (at CAR). The Panthers can contain the position even with their injuries, but he's been too hot to sit in an elite passing game.

10. Cole Kmet, Bears (at DET). He's their best chance of moving the ball again other than DJ Moore.

11. Luke Musgrave, Packers (vs. LAC). He's bringing it as a big-play rookie, and this is a fine spot for a medium score.

12. Logan Thomas, Commanders (vs. NYG). He's a good bet to score playing off the run for Sam Howell.

13. Michael Mayer, Raiders (at MIA). He made a sweet TD catch on the Jets, and this matchup is also favorable for upgraded usage.

DFS pick

Dalton Kincaid, Bills (vs. NYJ, $4,900 DraftKings, $5,800 FanDuel). The rookie is on a sweet rager with his key usage all over the field, adding TDs to his downfield yardage work. He keeps it up here vs. the Jets' tight end void, making us thankful he's back on the main slate.

Fantasy Football Week 11 Sit 'Em: Tight ends

Weaker starts

14. Evan Engram, Jaguars (vs. TEN). He's underwhelming for the most part, and this is a bad spot.

15. David Njoku, Browns (vs. PIT). He runs hot and cold, and here's to not feeling it this week.

16. Donald Parham Jr., Chargers (at GB). The matchup is too tough to take this chance.

17. Cade Otton, Buccaneers (at SF). Not against Fred Warner.

18. Tyler Conklin, Jets (at BUF). The idea isn't terrible, but the play is meh.

19. Tyler Higbee, Rams (vs. SEA). The idea isn't terrible, but the play is meh.

Fantasy Football Week 11 Start 'Em: Defenses

Stronger starts

  1. Cowboys (@ CAR)
  2. 49ers (vs. TB)
  3. Lions (vs. CHI)
  4. Commanders (vs. NYG)
  5. Bills (vs. NYJ)
  6. Dolphins (vs. LV)
  7. Jaguars (vs. TEN)
  8. Browns (vs. PIT)

9. Jets (at BUF). Josh Allen is a turnover machine, and the Jets can take advantage again.

10. Steelers (at CLE). You have to go here vs. Dorian Thompson-Robinson.

11. Seahawks (at LAR). They should welcome back Matthew Stafford with some key sacks and takeaways on the road.

12. Vikings (at DEN). They have been strong for five weeks, so expect them to stay hot.

DFS pick

Jaguars (vs. TEN, $3,400 DraftKings, $4,300 FanDuel). The Buccaneers and Steelers came through vs. Tennessee's injury-riddled offense the past two weeks, and the Jags need a big rebound performance at home.

Fantasy Football Week 11 Sit 'Em: Defenses

Weaker starts

13. Ravens (vs. CIN). They're not as fun to play vs. better offenses.

14. Bengals (at BAL). You can avoid them, too, on Thursday night.

15. Chargers (at GB). They're not good enough to trust on the road.

16. Texans (vs. ARI). This isn't the same Cardinals offense with Kyler Murray.

17. Eagles vs. 18. Chiefs. Let's hope the Super Bowl rematch is shootout city.

19. Broncos (vs. MIN). They've been playing better, but the Vikings' offense has too much pop.
