Week 8 PPR Rankings: WR

Week 8 PPR Rankings: WR image

Some fantasy football owners swear by the PPR format and wouldn't play in a standard league if you paid them. Others hate it because it gives added value to marginal players like Alex Erickson and Danny Amendola. To that, we say: What's so bad about Erickson and Amendola? They're football players. They work hard. They probably do charitable acts in their communities (or at least donate to people who do). And besides, even if you hate them, they're just as likely to put up a 2-12 receiving line as they are 9-110, so let someone else deal with the headaches. That volatility is reflected in our Week 8 fantasy WR PPR rankings.

As much as guys like Erickson and Amendola balled out in Week 7, we know how bad they've been in other weeks, so we can't elevate them too much in our rankings. The studs are still at the top, while higher-upside volume receivers, such as Jamison Crowder (@ Jaguars), Tyler Boyd (vs. Rams in UK), Dede Westbrook (vs. Jets), and Cole Beasley (vs. Eagles), are placed higher than the more up-and-down, occasionally highly targeted guys.

WEEK 8 NON-PPR RANKINGS
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

Just like last week, we'll be watching a number of injuries that could really shake up these rankings. Sterling Shepard (@ Lions) is a solid PPR option himself, and his return would also affect PPR extraordinaire Golden Tate. Davante Adams (@ Chiefs) would of course shake up these rankings in a major way if he missed another week, as big-play guys like Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Geronimo Allison would become much riskier in PPR formats. Prototype PPR receiver Christian Kirk (@ Saints) would also be a nice guy to have back.

WEEK 8 PPR RANKINGS: Running back | Tight end

If Adam Thielen (vs. Redskins) and Will Fuller (@ Raiders) were out with hamstring injuries, Olabisi Johnson and Kenny Stills would step in as big-play WR3s who don't necessarily fit the PPR mold but still have plenty of upside because of favorable matchups. Even in the PPR format, yards and TDs matter a lot, so don't overlook these guys. Tennessee's trio of Corey Davis, A.J. Brown, and Adam Humphries are also a lot more interesting with Ryan Tannehill under center, and this week against the Bucs, all are in play in PPR leagues.

Week 8 DFS Lineups:
Y! Cash | Y! GPP | FD Cash | FD GPP | DK Cash | DK GPP

The Browns duo of Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry are both usually steady PPR options, but with a matchup against the Patriots on deck, both take a hit. It will be tough to bench either, but it might be just as tough to start them.
