Week 6 Fantasy Football Projections, Rankings from Draft Sharks

Week 6 fantasy QB projections, rankings

Spotlight Player: Jimmy Garoppolo, 49ers @ Falcons (SN Ranking: 12 | DS Ranking: 17)

We know Garoppolo is a bit of a low-ceiling player, but he has a solid floor against bad pass defenses -- and Atlanta's 29th-ranked pass defense certainly qualifies as "bad." The 49ers will be playing their second-straight game out East (and staying out there during the week), so perhaps that will hurt San Francisco's overall offensive performance, but in a week with few high-end QBs or sleepers, we still think Jimmy G should be a little closer to the QB1 bubble.

Week 6 fantasy RB projections, rankings

Spotlight Player: James Robinson, Jaguars @ Colts (SN PPR Ranking: 17 | DS Ranking: 30)

Robinson's arrow is pointing down after two bad games with declining snaps (just 40 percent last week). However, the Jags were trailing most of Week 4, and last week's game was a disjointed slugfest from the start. This week could be similar, but it's the same matchup in which Robinson posted 78 total yards and a score in in Week 2. Overall, Draft Sharks is probably being smart by reading the tea leaves and expecting more Travis Etienne this week, but we still think Robinson is the primary runner and is bound to see more carries/touchdown opportunities.

Spotlight Player: Joshua Kelley, Chargers vs. Broncos (SN PPR Ranking: 52 | DS Ranking: 39)

Kelley played a season-high 38 percent of snaps last week, running 10 times for 49 yards and a TD. He seems to have overtaken Sony Michel as the Chargers' No. 2 back, but his carry total figures to be unpredictable going forward. Austin Ekeler is still the primary back, especially on passing downs, so we have a tough time getting too excited about Kelley. He's certainly rising, though, and this is another example of Draft Sharks looking inside the numbers and getting ahead of a trend while we're being a bit slower to react because of L.A.'s always-frustrating offense.

Week 6 fantasy WR projections, rankings

Spotlight Player: Darnell Mooney, Bears vs. Commanders (SN PPR Ranking: 32 | DS Ranking: 49)

Mooney hasn't done much this year, but he's been better lately, catching six-of-10 targets for 146 yards over the past two games. Hey, baby steps. This week, he gets a primo matchup against a Commanders' defense that's especially struggled as "WR1s." Robert Woods is the only top receiver who didn't score against Washington this year (Christian Kirk, Amon-Ra St. Brown, A.J. Brown, CeeDee Lamb), and while Mooney is much more like Woods than the other players, he's much more of a big-play threat. We expect his best game of the season this Thursday.

Spotlight Player: Romeo Doubs, Packers vs. Jets (SN PPR Ranking: 48 | DS Ranking: 28)

Doubs scored in Weeks 3 and 4 but caught just three-of-five targets for 29 yards in Week 5. He has a slightly favorable matchup in Week 6, but after Randall Cobb's explosion and Allen Lazard's steady performance, we're not sure where Doubs sits on Aaron Rodgers' pecking order. In a week like this, there isn't a huge difference between being the No. 28 WR and No. 48, honestly, but we still think Draft Sharks is being a little too optimistic with the rookie.

Week 6 fantasy TE projections, rankings

Spotlight Player: Tyler Conklin, Jets @ Packers (SN PPR Ranking: 12 | DS Ranking: 24)

Conklin is a tough player to evaluate because his stats have been inflated by garbage-time production in multiple weeks. Last week, in a game in which the Jets won by 23 and led the whole way, he received just one target. Still, he played 68 percent of snaps, and it seems clear he's the Jets' primary tight end (29 targets through the first four weeks). Because of his regular use before last week, we still think he's a fairly high-floor option, at least in PPR leagues. Draft Sharks is focusing more on Green Bay's top-five TE defense. There are some similar TEs with better matchups (Will Dissly, Noah Fant, Irv Smith Jr., Daniel Bellinger), but we still think Conklin has proved himself enough to merit a spot in the 12-15 range.

Week 6 fantasy defense projections, rankings

Spotlight Player: Los Angeles Chargers vs. Broncos (SN Ranking: 20 | DS Ranking: 10)

We want to like the Chargers more than we do in this favorable matchup, but L.A. hasn't given us many reasons to trust it. It does have two games with four or more sacks, but one of those came with Joey Bosa (groin) in the lineup. It also has two games with multiple takeaways, but for the season, it just has six takeaways. The Broncos have issues, but with 11 days to rest and prepare for this matchup, we think they'll limit the Chargers' opportunities and fantasy production.
