Week 6 DraftKings Picks: Best lineup stacks for NFL DFS tournaments, cash games image

Week 6 limits the amount of stacking options that we have with only ten games on the main DFS slate on DraftKings. I expect most of the attention to go toward the Falcons-Cardinals and Texans-Chiefs matchups given the high totals and explosive offenses in play in those games. I’m personally a bigger fan of the Falcons-Cardinals game. Both of those teams rank near the bottom of the league in total defense, and you can find some great value options in that matchup as well.

Week 6 NFL DFS Picks: Top DraftKings stacks for cash games

QB Matt Ryan and TE Austin Hooper, Falcons @ Cardinals

Ryan was an excellent play for us last week against the Texans, and he is my favorite play at the quarterback position this week in a perfect matchup with the Cardinals. I’ve raved all season that we need to be attacking Arizona each week because of how bad their defense is, along with how their fast-paced offense boosts play totals on both sides.

Week 6 is setting up to be the perfect storm for Ryan and the Falcons' passing offense. The total of this matchup is the 2nd highest on the slate at 52 points and both of these teams are in the bottom-10 in the league in passing DVOA. Ryan will probably attempt more than 40 passes in a game for the fifth time this season.

The consistency that we have seen from Ryan has been remarkable considering the problems that the Falcons have had this season. He has gone for more than 300 yards in all five of his starts and has multiple touchdowns in all but one game.

You can certainly pair Ryan with any of his pass-catchers, including Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley, or even Mohammed Sanu. However, I’m going to lean on tight end Austin Hooper. Two weeks ago, I wrote up Will Dissly solely based on the matchup with the Cardinals, and I’m going right back to the tight ends vs. Arizona well this week.

Hooper is a guy who has been somewhat frustrating to roster throughout his career. He would frequently have a great game and then follow that up with a total dud. An increased target share under Dirk Koetter has changed that this year. Hooper has seen at least six targets in every game this season, and it’s hard to see him getting less than that given Ryan’s passing volume and the exploitable matchup against the Cardinals.

WEEK 6 NON-PPR RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

RB Le'Veon Bell and D/ST New York Jets, vs. Cowboys

Bell is a very interesting play and is someone that you’re probably feeling slightly uneasy about playing in cash games. I expect most players to go to Leonard Fournette in this price range, but Bell is seeing nearly the same volume and has a better matchup against a Dallas defense that can’t stop anyone on the ground right now. I’m not expecting Bell to rush for four touchdowns like Aaron Jones did last week, but I do expect a nice game from him - especially with QB Sam Darnold returning to the field this week. Bell’s price on FanDuel, and especially DraftKings, is too low for the volume that he sees in the passing game. Bell has had 22 or more touches in all four of his games this season, which has included at least nine targets in three games.

I get it, the Jets offense is bad, and his touchdown equity is fairly low, but you have to think that they start to pick things up at home in a favorable matchup with Darnold back under center. Bell can hit 3x value on volume alone, and has a chance at a huge point-per-dollar outing should he find his way into the endzone.

The Jets defense play is something I’m not overthinking and isn’t a traditional RB/DST game script correlation play. They are only $1,500 on DraftKings and $3,100 on FanDuel despite averaging more than 10 fantasy points per game. The matchup isn’t great for them against Dallas, and they aren’t a very talented unit, but for the price, they only need a few sacks and a turnover or two to have you feeling great about rostering them. Defense is such a high variance position to roster that I’m willing to fully punt on it this week to help me spend up at more valuable positions.

Week 6 DraftKings Picks: Best stacks for daily fantasy football GPPs/tournaments

QB Gardner Minshew and WR DJ Chark, Jaguars vs. Saints

In tournaments and cash games, for that matter, I’m always looking at various options to spend down at quarterback. We have loads of data that suggests that finding the cheap quarterback option that can go five, six, or even seven times their salary expectations can be a key to taking down a large field tournament. Just look at players like Teddy Bridgewater last week, Daniel Jones in Week 3, and Mitchell Trubisky multiple times last season as examples of this. This week, the quarterback that I’m looking to punt on is Minshew in a home matchup with the Saints.

The line of the Jaguars-Saints matchup seems very fishy to me at JAX -1, but the books must see something in this Jaguars team with Minshew under center to set the line at that number. Minshew has been solid since coming in to start, having not posted fewer than 15 fantasy points in any of his five games this season. His yardage numbers aren’t anything to write home about, but he offers a great floor with some rushing upside to boot. The Saints have allowed the second-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks in the league this season, and Minshew is just too cheap with him playing at home in a nice matchup.

I expect Leonard Fournette to be extremely popular this week, and rightly so. However, you can create some nice leverage in tournaments by fading Fournette in favor of the Jaguars passing game. I’ll be pairing Minshew with Chark, who is clearly one of the biggest breakout players of 2019. Chark has a big frame and a little bit of speed to boot. Sure, he may see plenty of coverage from Marshon Lattimore, but that should only drive down his ownership. I don’t place a lot of stock in WR-CB matchups in DFS, and targeting good wideouts against supposed “lockdown” corners is something that you should do in GPPs. Not only does Chark see nice volume for the Jags with Minshew at quarterback, but he is also establishing himself as one of the best red-zone threats in the league with five touchdowns through five games. Chark is too cheap on both DraftKings ($5,500) and FanDuel ($6,500), giving him as much point-per-dollar upside as any wide receiver on the slate.

WEEK 6 PPR RANKINGS: Running back | Wide receiverTight end

QB Kyler Murray and RB David Johnson, Cardinals vs. Falcons

I'll say it again: Play running backs against Atlanta. The Falcons defense looks even worse than it did last season following the loss of safety Keanu Neal, and it looks like they won’t be able to stop virtually anybody all season. Atlanta has allowed 3-of-5 opposing backfields to rush for more than 100 yards, and they continue to allow easy targets out of the backfield.

Johnson is priced up a bit over on DraftKings but is still very much in play, while over on FanDuel, he makes for a tremendous top-end value at his $6,900 price tag. DJ had his best yardage output last week in another favorable matchup against the Bengals, and he will have the added benefit of playing at home in Arizona. While he is dealing with a back issue that could keep him out of his game, I find it unlikely that he misses out, given that he was able to finish the game last week in Cincinnati. If Johnson were to sit, then backup Chase Edmonds would become the top value play on the slate at $5,200.

I’ll be pairing the pass-catching Johnson with Murray to gain maximum upside in this matchup with the two highest ceiling players in the Cardinals offense. Murray has been up and down as a thrower, but we are finally starting to see him be unleashed as a rusher. Murray has a rushing touchdown in each of the last two weeks and 189 yards on the ground over the last three games. Murray is likely to be a chalky option, but he is chalk that I’ll eat on a short slate against a bad Falcons defense.

There's plenty of strategy that goes into putting together a winning DFS lineup, and the best place to start is RotoQL’s DFS tools. RotoQL's Lineup Optimizer is a massive advantage when you're building lineups, regardless of contest size or site.
