Last week, Todd Gurley crushed the Seahawks, which meant we crushed in GPP. Ezekiel Elliott, fresh from his six-game suspension, gets his turn against the Seahawks, and we find some salary relief at recievers to afford the high priced running back in our Week 16 DraftKings daily fantasy football cash game lineup.
It was a bit of struggle with injuries, direct or indirectly, plaguing our cash lineup, while Kenyan Drake was our big play. We're looking to get back on our December heater with high allocation at running back and tight end, while finding cap space with a couple cheap receivers who get plenty enough work to top their value.
Week 16 DraftKings Picks: cash lineup, advice
For DraftKings’ 12-game Sunday featured slate in NFL Week 16.
SUNDAY MORNING PIVOT: Cam Newton, CAR vs. TB ($6800): The prospect of inclement weather and the return of Vontaze Burfict devalue Matthew Stafford in cash a bit, so we're pivoting to Newton against a banged up Bucs defense playing on a short week. Newton's topped 15 DK in six straight games and has recaptured his high rushing floor.
Previously QB Matthew Stafford, DET @ CIN ($6200): Stafford’s thrown the seventh-most passes over the past two weeks despite positive game script in each contest. Detroit leads the league in pass ratio, and he’s locked into high volume even if Cincy gets routed early for the third straight week.
RB Ezekiel Elliott, DAL vs. SEA ($8000): Zeke’s hit 25-plus touches six games running and now comes in fresh, just as the Cowboys O-line finished sparking Alfred Morris and Rod Smith to fantasy viability. Elliott should resume his workload against a Seahawks defense that’s given up consecutive triple-digit runners, though monitor LT Tyron Smith's status.
SUNDAY MORNING PIVOT: CJ Anderson, DEN @ WAS ($5500): Mint price for a running back averaging 24 touches over his past three games. Reports that we'll avoid a Paxton Lynch start give us far more confidence in tapping CJA in cash games. Moving from Stafford up to Cam required cutting costs here, but we retain a solid floor.
Previously RB Christian McCaffrey, CAR vs. TB ($6400): McCaffrey ripped Green Bay by ground and air for 25.6 DK points, emerging from a rough stretch against three top-11 DK defenses for opposing running backs. His price remains depressed as Run-CMC found himself in the $7,000 club in November, and his floor has been bolstered with at least four targets in each game this season.
SUNDAY MORNING PIVOT: Keenan Allen, LAC @ NYJ ($7700): Allen got scratched from the injury report mid-week and becomes a safe play in a good matchup. Gang Green allows the ninth-most DK points to receivers this season and the sixth most passing yards since Week 13. Pivoting off Michael Thomas due to the hammy issue on Saturday's injury report, adding too much risk when we can still get to Allen.
Previously WR Michael Thomas, NO vs. ATL ($7600): Thomas leads the league in catches and ranks fifth among WRs in receiving yards since Week 14. We’ll pay the premium here as Thomas did drop 10-for-117 and a score in Atlanta just a couple weeks ago, as now the Saints host them in the Superdome.
WR Paul Richardson, SEA vs. DAL ($4300) We’d like to capitalize on underpriced Seahawks after Russell Wilson imploded against the Rams. The rookie-laden Cowboys secondary offers a much better matchup and Richardson leads Seattle in targets over the past two weeks, making him worth it at $2,000 cheaper than Doug Baldwin.
WR Kendall Wright, CHI vs. CLE ($3800): Chicago’s rolled and gotten rolled over the past two games, though in each contest young Mitchell Trubisky found chemistry with Kendall Wright on double-digit targets. Only four receivers have been targeted more over that span, yet we’re getting a sub-$4,000 bargain.
TE Evan Engram, NYG @ ARI ($5800): Sterling Shepard’s return three weeks ago coincided with Engram freed up to carve opposing defense once again. Since then, no TE tops the Giants rookie in targets and catches. Only Rob Gronkowski beats Engram in yards over the span, though DraftKings will charge you $1,800 more for that play.
FLEX Delanie Walker, TEN vs. LAR ($4900): Walker is second in TE targets over the past two weeks, with a total that would rank 15th at receiver. Over the past six weeks, his 46 targets land second at tight end and would rank 13th at receiver, offering our flex spot a solid floor as Walker’s price sits at 30th among the slate’s WR/TE group.
D/ST Panthers vs. Buccaneers ($3100): This defense barely cracks top-third in price after picking Aaron Rodgers three times on Sunday. Winston leads all QBs in fumbles per dropback among 27 passers with at least 300 dropbacks.
