Week 16 DraftKings Picks: Best lineup stacks for NFL DFS tournaments, cash games image

The Week 16 NFL DFS slate offers plenty of value at every position and makes it so that you can stack up any game that you would like with ease. The highest totals of the week belong to the Saints-Titans (50.5-points) and the Seahawks-Cardinals (51-points). There are plenty of other interesting games that have stacking viability that may come in at lower ownership including the Cowboys-Eagles, Jaguars-Falcons, and Raiders-Chargers.

Week 16 NFL DFS Picks: Top DraftKings stacks for cash games

QB Will Grier and RB Christian McCaffrey, Carolina Panthers @ Colts

The Panthers have decided to bench struggling Kyle Allen and see what they’ve got in Grier for the final two games of the season. While Grier is a virtual unknown, I’m willing to take a chance on him with his price tag of $6,000 on Fanduel and $4,300 on DraftKings in a good matchup against the Colts. Grier has a strong arm and showed some rushing upside during his college days at West Virginia. The Week 16 slate is pretty ugly for quarterbacks unless you want to spend up to Lamar Jackson or Drew Brees, but I’m going to opt to spend down and punt on Grier in cash games to help jam high-volume running backs into the lineup.

I’ve prioritized McCaffrey in cash games all season long, and we’re doing it again in Week 16. He is on pace for 1,000 yards rushing and 1,000 more receiving this season, gets all of the goal-line work, and has the passing game volume of a WR1. If you aren’t playing him in cash games week in and week out, then you probably haven’t been profitable in double-ups and head to heads this season.

WEEK 16 DFS LINEUPS:
FD Cash | FD GPP | DK Cash | DK GPPY! Cash | Y! GPP

QB Philip Rivers and WR Keenan Allen, Los Angeles Chargers vs. Raiders

Another value quarterback that I’m looking at this week is Rivers, who has a nice matchup at home against a struggling Raiders defense. Rivers has been inconsistent this season, but he has generally performed well when he’s had good matchups - 27.9 FPTS vs. Indianapolis, 23.9 FPTS vs. Houston, 23.4 FPTS at Miami, 24.2 FPTS at Tennessee, and 27.6 FPTS at Jacksonville - and Rivers should perform well in this week’s matchup against an Oakland defense that ranks 31st in overall defensive DVOA.

You can pair Rivers with a few different pass catching options. I love Mike Williams and Austin Ekeler for tournaments, but in cash games I prefer the relative safety that Keenan Allen provides at his $6,300 price point on DraftKings. While Allen hasn’t flashed much upside since the first month of the season, he has continued to be a reliable option for Rivers with at least 5 receptions in five-straight games.

Week 16 DraftKings Picks: Best stacks for daily fantasy football GPPs/tournaments

QB Dak Prescott and WR Amari Cooper, Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys have faced four brutal matchups in a row (LAR, @CHI, BUF, @NE), and we’ve seen the passing offense take a slight bump down in terms of fantasy upside. With that being said, this is a great week to hammer Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and a few of his passing game options in GPP stacks with Dallas having an excellent matchup in a do-or-die game against the Eagles. Prescott was one of the biggest Pro Bowl snubs of the year, and he’ll have a chance to silence the doubters this week against the 20th-ranked passing defense in the league.

I’ll have exposure to Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, and Ezekiel Elliott as a part of Cowboys’ stacks, but if I had to pick just one, I’m going with Cooper. While he has splits that heavily favor him at home, this is the best matchup that Cooper has seen since Week 11 against the Lions. This is an ideal bounce-back spot for Cooper, who hasn’t topped 90 yards in any of the last four games, and he should come in at reasonable ownership with many DFS players not willing to invest in a player who’s been struggling.

QB Matt Ryan, WR Julio Jones, and TE Austin Hooper, Atlanta Falcons vs. Jaguars

Last week was a classic Jones eruption at a season-low $7,000 price tag on DraftKings. I’ve made it a rule to have some exposure to Jones whenever his price dips below $7,500, and it finally paid off last week. In hindsight, we should have been all in on Jones with Calvin Ridley hitting IR and Richard Sherman ruled out of that game. This week, I want to go right back to Julio and the Falcons passing offense in a great matchup against the Jaguars at home.

Jones’ price has risen up to $8,000 on DraftKings, but I don’t think that is a big enough bump. He should be a lock to see 12-plus targets with Ridley out of the lineup, and the Jaguars secondary has been poor since they traded away Jalen Ramsey. The Falcons passing offense should be more condensed than normal with Ridley out, so I like the idea of adding Hooper to a Ryan-Jones stack. Hooper is at his lowest price point on DraftKings since Week 4. While Hooper’s production has been down since returning from an ankle injury, it should be noted that he faced the 49ers, who are one of the best teams in the NFL at defending tight ends, and the Panthers, in a game where Atlanta got out to a huge lead and didn’t require Hooper to play much on his bad ankle.
