Week 14 FanDuel Picks: NFL DFS lineup advice, strategy for daily fantasy football GPP tournaments image

Our FanDuel "Core Four" was burned in Week 13 by DJ Chark and Jonathan Williams. We'll try and bounce back this week with some nice daily fantasy football values among our "Core Four" picks. For owners who missed the fantasy playoffs, this is the perfect time to try and enjoy some GPP tournaments on FanDuel, and the example lineup and DFS advice below should help you do that.

If you're new to this article, we pick four players every week we'll be overweight in our lineup builds. Then, we give an example of how we'd fill in around them in tournaments. Our "Core Four" this week is Ryan Tannehill, Alvin Kamara, Jamaal Williams and Mike Williams. This isn't an "optimal lineup"; rather, it's an example of one you could build if you start with our "Core Four". FanDuel Picks Week 14: NFL DFS example lineup for GPPs

QB: Ryan Tannehill, Titans @ Raiders ($7,300)

There haven’t been many quarterbacks in the league who have been better than Tannehill since he took over for Marcus Mariota earlier this season. Tennessee is always going to be a team that looks to establish the run through Derrick Henry. Still, Tannehill has been extremely efficient with his limited passing attempts, and he has shown enough rushing ability to give him a stable floor at his price point. This week, Tannehill checks in at only $7,300 on FanDuel in a prime matchup against a Raiders defense that has looked horrible over the past few weeks and has given up the fourth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. With many of the high-end quarterback options in tough matchups, I have no problem spending down on Tannehill in both cash games and GPPs.

WEEK 14 DFS LINEUPS:
DK Cash | DK GPP | FD Cash | Y! Cash | Y! GPP

RB: Alvin Kamara, Saints vs. 49ers ($7,600)

Kamara has been one of the most frustrating players to roster in DFS this season. He is getting his usual volume of touches and is seeing amazing volume in the passing game with 45 targets over his past five games. However, he has not scored a touchdown on the ground or through the air since Week 3, which has killed his upside. We have to think that some touchdown regression is coming for Kamara before the end of the season, and I’m willing to go in on him this week at a very reasonable $7,600 price tag. The matchup is tough against the 49ers, but I think that the Saints’ offense will play well in this spot with San Francisco playing their second consecutive 1 p.m. ET kickoff. Kamara is the seventh-highest priced running back on the slate, which is too low considering his upside should the positive touchdown regression finally hit.

RB: Jamaal Williams, Packers vs. Redskins ($5,600)

Roster construction this week is leading me to play two value plays in my core plays, starting with Williams at $5,600 on FanDuel. Williams has been the more consistent running back in the Packers backfield over the past few weeks, and he is soaking up virtually all of the passing game work over Aaron Jones, but he still comes in at a $2,200 price discount. While Jones certainly has the higher upside and more touchdown equity, I love the floor that Williams has been providing this season, and he makes a lot of sense to roster to either a cash or GPP “stars-and-scrubs” lineup build. Williams has seen at least 10 carries in each of the past three weeks, and I expect that trend to continue with the Packers coming in as 13-point home favorites to the Redskins.

WR: Mike Williams, Chargers @ Jaguars ($5,900)

The other value play that I’m eyeing this week is Williams. It’s been a tough year for Williams, who doesn’t have a touchdown after being a red-zone monster in 2018. Similar to Kamara, I would be shocked if Williams doesn’t at least have some positive touchdown regression before the end of the season. Williams is being utilized as the main downfield threat for the Chargers this season, and his air yards per target is among the highest in the NFL, which makes him an intriguing play on a site like FanDuel that doesn’t value receptions as highly as DraftKings. The matchup is also pretty good for Williams and the rest of the Chargers offense, who take on the struggling Jaguars, who have allowed 34.3 points per game over their past three outings.

WEEK 14 PPR RANKINGS: Running back | Wide receiverTight end

WR: A.J. Brown, Titans @ Raiders ($5,400)

For the GPP lineup, I’m going to start by doing a three-man Titans stack with Tannehill, and Derrick Henry. I don’t mind playing Tannehill by himself, but in large-field tournaments, I want to correlate him with Brown, who has shown himself to be the Titans' most reliable pass-catcher.

WR: Julio Jones, Falcons vs. Panthers ($7,800)

Jones (shoulder) is expected to return to the lineup this week after missing out on the Falcons Thanksgiving loss against the Saints. Jones should go extremely low owned despite a great matchup at home with the Panthers. Jones is another player who is due for some positive touchdown regression, and his point-per-dollar upside is among the best on the slate.

TE: George Kittle, 49ers @ Saints ($6,700)

Kittle is underpriced at $6,700 on FanDuel this week, and he makes for a nice leverage play off of Jack Doyle, who is at a similar price and will likely be higher owned. Kittle is coming off of a rough game against the Ravens, but the conditions in that matchup didn’t set up for either passing attack. Expect a bounce-back for the entire 49ers offense as they head to New Orleans to face the Saints in the Superdome.

FLEX: Derrick Henry, Titans @ Raiders ($9,100)

While Henry doesn’t catch enough passes to make him a great correlation play with Tannehill, he is still going to get enough volume on the ground to pay off his salary expectations if he gets into the end zone.

D/ST: Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cardinals ($4,300)

The Steelers have been one of the best defenses in football in recent weeks, and a rookie quarterback in a struggling offense shouldn't slow them down.
