Zach Ertz finally seemed to be coming on, and then what happens? He has a Week 10 bye. On the bright side for the Week 10 fantasy TE rankings, despite six teams off you're really not missing a whole lot else at the tight end position. There are also great matchups for many in the top half at the position, meaning if you've been streaming, there are some good sleepers for you. And we aren't really worried about matchups for any of the studs, either, so at a position that has been frustrating much of the season, Week 10 shapes up on paper as a solid week.
Both Colts' TEs are in play thanks to a matchup with the now no-longer-winless Dolphins. Indianapolis is still a much better team than Miami, and even if Brian Hoyer is starting at QB for Indy, you can rely on Eric Ebron and to a lesser extent, Jack Doyle.

Buccaneers tight ends are solid plays this week, too, except that we've got a lot of uncertainty there. It appears that O.J. Howard will be back, based on new info out Monday, so it looks like you can lock Howard into your fantasy matchups. A matchup with the Cardinals is great for any tight end, so we really just have to monitor throughout the week to see who it'll be lining up at that position for Jameis Winston.
If you're in a deeper league, the tight end situation in Cleveland bears watching. Ricky Seals-Jones (knee) might be injured, which would lead to more playing time for Demetrius Harris. He's not really a standard league play, though, as he's too touchdown dependent. Injuries also help the Minnesota tight ends this week, as Adam Thielen's potential absence should open up more looks for Irv Smith Jr. and Kyle Rudolph against the Cowboys in prime time.
WEEK 10 PPR RANKINGS: Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end
This is a week to not overthink things, though. If you have one of the top seven tight ends here, they're automatic starts. Whoever starts for Tampa Bay is an eighth auto start, and Greg Olsen, Gerald Everett and Eric Ebron should start in all 12-team leagues this week, too.

Byes this week take Ertz, Dallas Goedert, Benjamin Watson, Noah Fant, Darren Fells, and the unusable TEs from Jacksonville and Washington off the board. For once, that shouldn't be too big a concern with how much good is happening in the rankings.

Week 10 Fantasy TE Rankings
These rankings are for standard, non-PPR leagues.
Rank | Player |
1 | Travis Kelce, KC @ TEN. The Titans are below average against tight ends and Patrick Mahomes (knee) is likely to be back. Kelce's arrow is pointing upward from an already pretty high perch. |
2 | Hunter Henry, LAC @ OAK. Oakland is the third-worst team in the league at defending fantasy tight ends, and Henry seems like the most important weapon in the L.A. offense at the moment. He's firmly entrenched in every-week start territory. |
3 | Darren Waller, OAK vs. LAC |
4 | Austin Hooper, ATL @ NO |
5 | Mark Andrews, BAL @ CIN |
6 | O.J. Howard, TB vs. ARZ. Howard is back from injury in time for this dream matchup. |
7 | Greg Olsen, CAR @ GB. Green Bay allows the fifth-most fantasy points to tight ends, and Olsen continues to be a reliable enough target for Kyle Allen to remain a decent fantasy starter. |
8 | Gerald Everett, LAR @ PIT. The Steelers have allowed five touchdowns to tight ends this season, tied for fourth-worst in the NFL. Everett should get enough targets to play regardless, but that added chance of finding the end zone is a nice bonus. |
9 | Eric Ebron, IND vs. MIA. Miami is actually in the better half of the league at defending tight ends, but that's been mostly due to limiting touchdowns. Maybe that means Ebron won't find the end zone, or maybe that means regression to the mean is coming. |
10 | Vance McDonald, PIT vs. LAR |
11 | Jonnu Smith, TEN vs. KC. The Chiefs have allowed the third-most catches to tight ends this season, and teams have actually targeted the TE against KC more than any other team. Considering how much Tennessee likes to throw to its tight ends, Smith might have a great game ahead in Week 10. |
12 | Jared Cook, NO vs. ATL |
13 | Kyle Rudolph, MIN @ DAL. An Adam Thielen absence would boost Rudolph, who produces more without the Vikings' top receiver in the lineup. The same is true for Irv Smith Jr. a bit further down in the rankings. |
14 | Jack Doyle, IND vs. MIA. Doyle plays more than Ebron but gets thrown to less, so he's secondary but not a terrible play against the Dolphins. |
15 | T.J. Hockenson, DET @ CHI. Chicago has allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to tight ends and really isn't that scary a defense anymore, so Hockenson can still be a decent play this week. |
16 | Jimmy Graham, GB vs. CAR |
17 | Mike Gesicki, MIA @ IND. His six catches for 96 yards a week ago are certainly enticing enough to get our attention. A matchup with the Colts, who struggle to defend tight ends, makes Gesicki even more intriguing. It's just hard to imagine he can equal that production in an offense led by Ryan Fitzpatrick on a team that's still not very good. But you could do worse. |
18 | Ross Dwelley, SF vs. SEA |
19 | Chris Herndon, NYJ vs. NYG. Herndon was active in Week 9, but Ryan Griffin still led the TE group. Monitor news out of Jets practice this week to see if Herndon will figure in more as we go forward. |
20 | Irv Smith Jr., MIN @ DAL |
21 | Jason Witten, DAL vs. MIN |
22 | Jacob Hollister, SEA @ SF |
23 | Tyler Eifert, CIN vs. BAL |
24 | Tyler Kroft, BUF @ CLE |
25 | Trey Burton, CHI vs. DET |
26 | Rhett Ellison, NYG @ NYJ |
27 | Demetrius Harris, CLE vs. BUF. If you're desperate, Harris could be a TD-dependent play if Ricky Seals-Jones (knee) is out, but it doesn't help that Buffalo defends the TE well. |
