We need to talk about Jaylen Samuels. If you're looking through last Sunday's stats and trying to find a big riser for our Week 10 fantasy RB PPR rankings, it would look a lot like Samuels. He was targeted 13 times in Week 9, almost all on dump-off passes from Mason Rudolph. Samuels caught all 13 for 73 yards. He stunk on the ground -- eight carries for 10 yards sounds way too much like recent-vintage Joe Mixon -- but it's still a massive PPR day for Samuels. Of course, James Conner's absence is most of the reason for it, and if Conner is back from his shoulder injury, Samuels becomes a secondary option and Conner probably soaks up most of those dump-off passes. The moral of the story, apparently, is start Mason Rudolph's starting RB in your PPR leagues.
Devin Singletary and Damien Williams both had breakouts of their own sort Sunday and deserve extra PPR consideration. Singletary had seemed like a PPR-only back, but 20 carries Sunday threw that out the window. He should start in every format in Week 10 against the Browns. Williams, too, was, at best, a PPR-only back the past few weeks, but it appears he's again leapfrogged LeSean McCoy and should start in basically every format this week in Tennessee.

You also have to continue to be encouraged by Mark Walton's semi-involvement in the Miami passing game, as in a game in which the Dolphins were winning Walton still received four targets. He remains a more appealing PPR option than his stature as Dolphins starting RB makes him seem. (Update: Walton has been suspended for four games for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy. Starter Kalen Ballage is not a pass-catching option, and it remains to be seen who the Dolphins tab to fill that role.) His former teammate, Kenyan Drake, had four catches for 52 yards in his Arizona debut as the Cardinals tried to set up screens for him with some success. That's a less certain situation going forward, though, as both David Johnson (ankle, back) and Chase Edmonds (hamstring) should return soon from injuries to muddy the waters.
WEEK 10 PPR RANKINGS: Wide receiver | Tight end
If you're looking down at the passing-specialist RBs in the rankings, Nyheim Hines has a great matchup this week against the Dolphins. And in Detroit, J.D. McKissic had four targets in Week 9, including a touchdown, and should continue to be the passing-down back for the Lions. That's a role Detroit may not need a ton in Week 10 against the Bears, though.

Leonard Fournette is the big name on bye in Week 10. Beyond him, a number of committees are off: Denver (Royce Freeman/Phillip Lindsay), Houston (Carlos Hyde/Duke Johnson), New England (Sony Michel/James White), Philadelphia (Miles Sanders/Jordan Howard). Washington (Adrian Peterson) is also idle. If you need a replacement, look first at potentially available in some leagues Singletary and Ronald Jones, and if they're on rosters, maybe try out Hines or McKissic or Kareem Hunt (vs. Bills) in his season debut. It's unclear just how many snaps Hunt will play, but it's likely he will be more involved on passing downs.
