After a week off we’re back with some more MLB betting picks using BetQL, and we have a great slate of games to target tonight. A couple favorites are really standing out as teams to target against the run line at great value, and there are also a few underdogs that have some nice odds to win outright at home despite tough matchups.

Atlanta Braves vs. San Diego Padres

Starting Pitchers: Mike Soroka vs. Nick Margevicius
Money Line: ATL -170, SD +145
Run Line: ATL -1.5 (+120), SD +1.5 (-140)
Total: O/U 9

Starting us off we have the Braves, who will open up a three-game series at home tonight against the Padres. San Diego has been a pleasant surprise thus far this season after getting off to a 16-12 start, which has included a solid 5-1 run over its past six games. Atlanta hasn’t gotten off to as great of a start as they would have hoped after winning the NL East last season, but it is still hanging in there at 13-14. The Braves will have a slight advantage in starting pitchers with the talented Mike Soroka. This is a game where the public, sharp bettors, and the BetQL models are looking to back the Braves. The Braves -1.5 run line at +120 is the highest graded value bet on the slate at 3.5 stars.

BetQL Pick: Atlanta Braves Run Line (+120)

New York Mets vs. Cincinnati Reds

Starting Pitchers: Zack Wheeler vs. Tanner Roark
Money Line: NYM -160, CIN +135
Run Line: NYM -1.5 (+135), CIN +1.5 (-160)
Total: O/U 7.5

The Reds have really struggled on the road this season, going 4-10 straight up. The pitching matchup in this game features two similarly mediocre pitchers in Zack Wheeler and Tanner Roark, but with both offenses being in the bottom half of the league, the run total in this game is still one of the lowest on the slate at only 7.5 runs. Each of the past five games for Cincinnati has gone UNDER the run total when the total has closed at 7.5 runs or fewer. While the BetQL models don’t like this game as much as the ATL-SD game, there is still some nice value on the Mets run line at +135.

BetQL Pick: New York Mets Run Line (+135)

Minnesota Twins vs. Houston Astros

Starting Pitchers: Jake Odorizzi vs. Justin Verlander
Money Line: MIN +150, HOU -180
Run Line: MIN +1.5 (-110), HOU -1.5 (-110)
Total: O/U 8.5

The final game we're targeting tonight is a  home underdog whose odds don’t quite matchup with the production that we have seen this season. The Twins come in a +150 home dogs in a matchup with the Astros. While Houston should certainly be the favorites in the game, especially given that they have Justin Verlander on the mound, the -180/+150 split is too high against a Minnesota team that has the second-best record in the American League at 16-9. It should be noted that Houston took two of three games against the Twins in their series (played in Houston) back on April 22-24.

BetQL Pick: Minnesota Twins Money Line +150
