Today's MLB DFS Playbook: Lineup picks, tips for Wednesday
SP Lucas Giolito, White Sox (@ Cubs). Giolito is in a great spot tonight facing a Cubs offense that is striking out 26 percent of the time with a 13-percent SwSTr percentage against righties. With an xFIP of 4.07 and 28-percent K-rate (14.14 K/9) Giolito is the top pay-up tonight with the wind blowing in at Wrigley.
SP Dylan Bundy, Twins (@ Orioles). In four starts in April, Bundy threw 21.1 innings with a 2.65 ERA and 0.94 WHIP -- a huge improvement over his 2021 results. He has also cut his walk and home run rates by more than half and is hitting his spots every time out. As a favorite with the wind blowing in, you can take a chance with Bundy in GPPs against an Orioles team striking out 24.9 percent of the time against righties.
C Omar Narvaez, Brewers (vs. Reds). Narvaez, like a lot of MLB hitters, is struggling at the plate. He gets a solid matchup tonight with RHP Vlad Gutierrez. If you take away his bad April, Narvaez has a .353 wOBA with a 42-percent fly-ball rate since the start of 2021.
1B Josh Bell, Nationals (@ Rockies). Bell is on fire. He has a .377 average with a .436 wOBA over his past 20 games and gets another date at Coors. He had a big game last night with a bomb and is now hitting .420 over the last week. It's C.J. Cron or Bell -- take your pick in cash tonight.
2B Gleyber Torres, Yankees (@ Blue Jays). Torres is swinging a hot bat with double-digit fantasy points in three of his past five games. Kikuchi has been a gas can this season and is allowing a .224 ISO and .372 wOBA to righthanded bats while Torres has a .218 ISO and .370 wOBA against lefties. Don't forget the 6-for-13 BVP splits either.
3B Ryan McMahon, Rockies (vs. Nationals). McMahon had an 0-fer last night but is in another great spot tonight in Coors against a bad pitcher in Patrick Corbin. It's a lefty-lefty matchup, but Corbin is an equal opportunity gas can and McMahon has a 4-for-9 BVP split.
SS Bo Bichette, Blue Jays (vs. Yankees). Bichette finally broke out of his April slump with a home run on Sunday and is back to the Bo we all know with multi-hit games in three of his past four while batting .310 over the last week. I do not want to pick on Nestor Cortes, but Bichette does have a home run in seven at-bats against the southpaw and makes for a fine one-off tonight.
OF Chris Taylor, Dodgers (vs. Giants). I don't like to make a habit of picking on Alex Wood, but Taylor has always hit him well (4-for-14 with two home runs). He's also quietly putting together another strong season with a .290 average and 122 wRC+ over his past 20 games.
MORE PICKS: SP Garrett Whitlock, Red Sox (vs. Angels); 1B Rowdy Tellez, Brewers (vs. Reds); 2B Cesar Hernandez, Nationals (@ Rockies); SS Carlos Correa, Twins (@ Orioles); OF Giancarlo Stanton, Yankees (@ Blue Jays)
