Today's MLB DFS Picks: Advice, strategy for Wednesday's DraftKings, FanDuel daily fantasy baseball contests image

With a host of day action, tonight's main MLB DFS slate features seven games. Though though there are more stud pitchers today, I am preferring to use a lot of the middle tier on both DraftKings and FanDuel, which will allow me to be more aggressive with hitter picks.

There aren't any weather worries that will affect the main evening slate, but if you're involved in the Braves-Reds game in any way, there might be a delay after things get started. Check the Fantasy Alarm Weather Center before lineup lock to get the latest on every game.

Today's MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings, FanDuel advice for Wednesday, April 24

Cole Hamels, SP, Cubs vs. Dodgers. Hamels doesn’t have a great matchup, but he has been fantastic since his first start. Over his past three outings he has a 1.29 ERA and 19 strikeouts in 21 innings pitched. He is is in play for both cash and GPPs.

Wilson Ramos, C, Mets vs. Phillies. Ramos continues to his the ball hard and put it in play. It is a matter of time before this starts translating into home runs. He is decently priced and a nice play for both GPPs and cash games.

Trey Mancini, 1B, Orioles vs. White Sox. It is probably because he is playing in Baltimore, but I don’t think that Mancini is getting enough credit for what he is doing thus far. Has already crushed six home runs and is hitting .347/.406/.642 this season. Playing in homer haven Camden Yards helps, but he is home there today versus Ervin Santana, who traditionally struggles keeping the ball in the yard.

D.J. LeMahieu, 2B, Yankees @ Angels. LeMahieu has been leading off or hitting in the middle of the order for the Yankees with so many injuries to their lineup. His matchup with Felix Pena screams a nice play at his price with how awful Pena has been at keeping people off base and in the park.

Carlos Correa, SS, Astros vs. Twins. I am not a big Correa fan. I think his name value often makes him more expensive than he should be, but when he has a great matchup like today, I am willing to pay up for him a bit. Kohl Stewart is a prospect people will remember, but it is for all the wrong reasons, as he has been a huge bust. The Astros should hammer him pretty hard.

Justin Turner, 3B, Dodgers @ Cubs. Turner is one of our top value plays at third base. The power hasn’t shown up yet this year, but that doesn’t mean it won’t eventually. Either way, Turner kills lefties, and he faces o n today, which means he should have a very safe floor for cash games.

Andrew McCutchen, OF, Phillies @ Mets. McCutchen has led off every game he has played over the last two weeks. In that time he is hitting .280/.390/.500 with two home runs. His numbers aren’t going to win you a GPP, but he is a safe cash game play, especially against Jason Vargas and the Mets.
