Today's MLB DFS Picks: Advice, strategy for Wednesday's DraftKings, FanDuel daily fantasy baseball contests image

Wednesday's nine-game main MLB DFS slate brings with it better pitching options than yesterday, and there are still plenty of stud and sleeper hitters in good situations. There A's-Orioles, Nationals-Phillies, and Rangers-Diamondbacks all feature plus hitting enviroments, and when in doubt, you can look for value hitters for your FanDuel and DraftKings contests from these games.

Yusei Kikuchi, SP, Mariners @ Royals. Kikuchi has been hit or miss this year, but there is no questioning how great his stuff is. He gets a Kansas City lineup that is can strike out a ton in Kauffman Stadium. There is obviously some risk, but the Royals haven’t seen him before and aren’t super patient as a team.

J.T. Realmuto, C, Phillies vs. Nationals. I am all about exploiting cheap catchers with bad matchups. That being said, I love just exploiting bad matchups. Realmuto is hitting the ball hard and making a good amount of contact. It is a matter of time before the ball starts flying out of the park. He is worth paying up for versus Hellickson.

Edwin Encarnacion,, 1B, Mariners @ Royals. If Dan Vogelbach isn’t starting, I will likely be all over E5 instead. The stadium isn’t great, but he has real-man power that plays anywhere. The Mariners have been hot, and getting to face pitchers like Heath Fillmyer help keep those bats rolling along.

Brian Dozier, 2B, Nationals @ Phillies. Dozier is hitting the ball extremely hard right now. He has an average exit velocity in the top 10 percent of the league along with a 50-percent hard-hit percentage. He is really squaring the ball up right now. It isn’t a great matchup, but these numbers should help him turn around a lackluster start.

Javy Baez, SS, Cubs vs. Pirates. Why aren’t we talking more about Baez? His exit velocity is up and in the top five percent of the league. He has a decent average, two stolen bases, and four home runs. The only downside to Baez is how much he strikes out, and he is facing Jordan Lyles, who doesn’t strike people out.

Matt Chapman, 3B, A's @ Orioles. Chapman may actually be outperforming his underlying stats right now, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love him, especially when he is playing in a hitters park like Camden Yards versus a trash pitcher like Dan Straily. You have to pay up for him a bit, but I am stacking A’s in at least a few contests today.

Michael Conforto, OF, Mets vs. Twins. Conforto was among my best plays of the day yesterday, and there is no reason to think he can’t repeat it against a worse pitcher in Jake Odorizzi. He has improved on just about every StatCast number from last season and pretty much every traditional stat, as well. He also traditionally murders righthanded pitching. This is no fluke.
