Legalized sports betting has exploded onto the scene in the United States following the reversal of the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 (PASPA) in 2018. Since then, 33 states plus the District of Columbia have legalized sports betting in some capacity, and this number is sure to increase in the coming years.

Is sports betting legal in Delaware?

Sticking with its moniker, Delaware was the first state to legalize sports betting after PAPSA was reversed in 2018. However, Delaware doesn't have any mobile or online betting options despite online sports betting being legal in the state. If residents want to bet, they have to do it at three retail sportsbooks within the state.

How do I bet on sports in Delaware?

Delaware residents have to be 21 or older to bet on sports in person at a retail location (casinos). However, residents can bet on horse racing in person and online at sites such as BetAmerica, TVG, and TwinSpires. The state lottery also offers a form of sports betting with a Sports Pick game where residents can create a parlay involving only college and pro football using totals, futures, and teasers.

Can I bet on college sports in Delaware?

Delaware has two D1 programs, but residents cannot bet on them. However, if you live in a nearby state that has legalized sports betting, you can bet on the Delaware Blue Hens and Delaware State Hornets.

Where can I bet on sports in Delaware?

There are only three retail sportsbooks that operate in the state of Delaware, all residing at casinos/racetracks in Wilmington, Dover, and Harrington. The Delaware Lottery looks after the sportsbooks and has William Hill as its risk manager.
