We had a snow game last week, but it ultimately didn't have a huge effect on the passing or kicking games in that contest. Looking ahead to the Week 16 weather forecast, we shouldn't have to worry about snow, but there is some wind, rain, and cold that could have a slight affect on start 'em, sit 'em calls for the fantasy football championship round.
Before we break down the Week 16 forecast, here's a reminder that if you have any questions about sports weather or how weather could impact play (and, potentially, your fantasy, DFS, and gambling decisions), don't hesitate to reach out on Twitter @KevinRothWx or check our hourly NFL weather forecasts on RotoGrinders. NFL Week 16 weather updates
SATURDAY
Texans at Buccaneers. There's a chance of showers, and winds will be around 10-15 mph. None of that is quite enough to be really worried.
Bills at Patriots. Temps will be below freezing, but there doesn't figure to be any impactful wind or precipitation, so the temp doesn't bother me.
Rams at 49ers. There's a decent chance for rain here, but it likely won't be heavy enough to affect start-or-sit decisions.
SUNDAY
Bengals at Dolphins. It's the combination of both the wind (10-15 mph) and rain that has me a bit worried here. In 21 games in Miami with similar weather, we've seen a decrease to rushing yards, passing yards, and total scoring. It's a bump down to offense and kicking (stats courtesy of WeatherEdge).
Raiders at Chargers. This game is coming in a bit on the windy side, with sustained winds likely around 15 mph and gusts over 25 mph. It's not the kind of wind that makes it impossible to move the ball, but deeper throws and long field goal attempts will be impacted.
Cardinals at Seahawks. There's a lower end chance of showers, but nothing major here..
