NFL Weather Week 5: Wind in forecast could affect fantasy start 'em, sit 'em decisions image

Last week's NFL weather forecast was almost perfect, and the Week 5 edition is pretty much the same. Oh, there are a few windy spots, but the relative lack of rain -- thanks, in part, to seven games in stadiums with a roof -- is a welcome sight. Nonetheless, RotoGrinders' meteorologist Kevin Roth is here to help us break down all the key weather updates before fantasy football owners lock in their start 'em, sit 'em decisions.

Before we get into the Week 5 forecasts, here's a reminder that if you have any questions about sports weather or how weather could impact play (and, potentially, your fantasy, DFS, and gambling decisions), don't hesitate to reach out to RotoGrinders' meteorologist Kevin Roth on Twitter (@KevinRothWx) or check out the hourly NFL weather forecasts on RotoGrinders. To take your game to the next level, subscribe to RotoGrinders' exclusive WeatherEdge tool and see how different weather conditions have impacted historical scoring.

Note: If a game isn't mentioned below, it's because it doesn't even have 10-mph winds or a 20-percent chance of precipitation in the forecast.

Ravens @ Steelers. With around a 25-percent chance of rain and winds in the 15-25-mph range, this figures to be the worst weather game of the week. You were probably avoiding most of the players in the Steelers' passing game anyway (with the possible exception of George Pickens), and that seems like a wise move given the conditions. Lamar Jackson, Mark Andrews, Zay Flowers, and even Justin Tucker are still solid options unless the forecast worsens closer to kickoff.

Giants @ Dolphins. There's around a 50-percent chance of rain in the second half of this one, but it doesn't figure to prolonged or intense. Start all of your usual starters as you normally would.

WEEK 5 FANTASY ADVICE:
Sleepers | Busts | Projections | Start 'em, sit 'em

Saints @ Patriots. Expect winds of around 15-20 mph and a low chance of rain for this game. It's tempting to say bench everyone in the passing and kicking games from both teams, but even after last week's dud, Chris Olave remains a must-start.

WEEK 5 DFS:
DK lineup | FD lineup | Best values | Best stacks

Cowboys @ 49ers. Here's yet another game with 15-plus-mph gusts at various points. Given the high-powered offenses and reliable kickers for both teams, there's no need to worry about any of your usual starters.

All of this is subject to change as we get closer to kickoff. You can follow meteorologist Kevin Roth on Twitter (@KevinRothWx) and check out the hourly NFL weather forecasts on RotoGrinders. For the best weather-related fantasy advice, take a look at WeatherEdge.
