Fantasy Injury Updates: Stefon Diggs, Robby Anderson, Mike Evans, more affecting Week 1 start 'em, sit 'em calls image

After a scare on Thursday, we can safely say Julio Jones will be in the Falcons starting lineup in Week 1; and after a full offseason of scares, we can safely say Antonio Brown won't be in anyone's lineup in Week 1. Beyond that, it's a relatively quiet Week 1 for fantasy football owners on the injury front. The biggest "questionable" worries are all WRs -- Stefon Diggs, Robby Anderson, Mike Evans, Keke Coutee, and Marquise Brown. We're here with the latest updates, breaking down how their active/inactive statuses affect Week 1 start 'em, sit 'em calls.

Is Stefon Diggs playing Week 1?

UPDATE 2: Diggs is officially ACTIVE.

UPDATE: Adam Schefter reports Diggs is expected to play in Week 1.

Diggs (hamstring) got in a limited practice on Thursday and Friday and is listed as "questionable" ahead of Sunday's game against Atlanta. Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said "we'll see" in response to a question about whether Diggs will play in Week 1.

If he's active, he should be in your lineups, as we have him as a borderline WR1 in our WR rankings. If he's out, Adam Thielen would likely see even more targets, with the rest likely being divvied up among Minnesota's backups. No one really stands out other than maybe TE Kyle Rudolph as a potential beneficiary.

WEEK 1 PPR RANKINGS: Running backWide receiver | Tight end

Is Robby Anderson playing Week 1?

UPDATE 2: Anderson is officially ACTIVE.

UPDATE: Adam Schefter reports Anderson will play in Week 1.

Despite a "questionable" tag, Jets coach Adam Gase said Anderson (calf) is "ready to roll" for Week 1 against Buffalo.

Anderson has about as tough of a matchup as a receiver can have against Tre'Davious White and the Bills secondary, but he managed 76 yards and a TD the last time these teams squared off in 2018, so he still has boom-or-bust upside as a WR3. By no means is he a "must-start", but he can work as a WR3 or FLEX if you need him.

Mike Evans injury update

UPDATE 2: Evans is officially ACTIVE.

UPDATE: Adam Schefter reports Evans will play in Week 1.

Evans missed practice on Friday because of a stomach issue, so it seems likely he'll suit up on Sunday against San Francisco.

Of course, we won't know for sure until late Sunday afternoon, so if Evans' illness is worse than expected, fantasy owners need to make sure they have someone from the late or prime-time games to sub in. In addition to Chris Godwin and TE O.J. Howard, Breshad Perriman would likely see the biggest uptick in targets, but he shouldn't be trusted in fantasy leagues.

Keke Coutee injury news

Coutee (ankle) is "questionable" for Monday night's game in New Orleans, though he did get in limited practices toward the end of the week.

Even if Coutee plays, he likely won't see a full complement of snaps, making him a weak fantasy play in a week with no byes. Kenny Stills would see some targets if Coutee is out, but he's not a recommended play.

Marquise Brown injury update

UPDATE: Brown is officially ACTIVE.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh has already said Brown (foot) will play in Week 1 against Miami despite the rookie missing practice on Friday.

Because of the uncertainty surrounding Baltimore's passing game -- namely, how much Lamar Jackson will throw and who he will throw to -- Brown isn't worth starting just yet, but he's a good long-term stash in both redraft and dynasty leagues.
