Is Clyde Edwards-Helaire playing on Sunday night? Fantasy injury update for Broncos-Chiefs Week 13 Sunday Night Football image

Having "questionable" players in the Sunday Night Football game is never fun, especially when they're running backs. That's what owners of Clyde Edwards-Helaire will have to deal with in Week 13, as the Chiefs RB is dealing with an illness. Knowing the latest injury updates ahead of the early Sunday games as well as the prime-time game will be crucial for fantasy start 'em, sit 'em decisions, which is why we'll be providing the latest below.

We'll continue to update this article with news on Edwards-Helaire up until the official active/inactive report comes out on Sunday around 6:50 p.m. ET. For all the latest fantasy updates, follow us on Twitter @SN_Fantasy.

Is Clyde Edwards-Helaire playing on Sunday night?

UPDATE: ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Sunday morning that Edwards-Helaire is expected to play against Denver.

UPDATE 2: Edwards-Helaire is officially ACTIVE.

Edwards-Helaire (illness) was a late add to the injury report after missing Friday's practice. Chiefs coach Andy Reid told reporters on Friday that CEH "should be fine" for Sunday night's game against Denver, so barring more negative reports ahead of the game, it's safe to pencil Edwards-Helaire into lineups.

WEEK 13 PPR RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

If he is a surprise scratch, Darrel Williams will start and handle the bulk of the RB touches, making him a solid RB2/flex. When Williams started in place of Edwards-Helaire from Weeks 6-10, he averaged 94 total yards, 4.8 receptions, and scored three total TDs. Derrick Gore will also be mixed in, but he's not someone you can count on in fantasy.

WEEK 13 STANDARD RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

If you don't have Williams, then you don't have many replacement options. Matt Breida is available in roughly 60 percent of Yahoo leagues, so he's your best bet at RB. If you're just looking for a flex, you could take a swing with a receiver like Kendrick Bourne, Mecole Hardman, Tim Patrick, or Gabriel Davis.

WEEK 13 FANTASY: Sleepers | Busts | Start 'em, sit 'em

Again, Edwards-Helaire is expected to play and has RB2 upside, so don't let his illness scare you away unless you have a viable early-game replacement and no chance of getting any of the potential fill-ins we mentioned above.
