Is CeeDee Lamb playing Sunday night? Fantasy injury update for Cowboys-Eagles Sunday Night Football image

CeeDee Lamb popped up on the Cowboys' injury report late last week and forced fantasy football owners to furiously check for injury updates throughout the day on Sunday. He's back at it again this week, officially being listed as "questionable" for Dallas' Week 6 showdown against the Eagles on Sunday Night Football. Start 'em, sit 'em decisions and potential late-minute waiver-wire runs depend on whether Lamb is playing, so let's break down what we know.

We'll continue to update this article with news on Lamb until the official active/inactive report comes out on Sunday around 6:50 p.m. ET.

Is CeeDee Lamb playing Sunday night Week 6?

UPDATE: NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Sunday morning that Lamb is expected to play against Philadelphia.

UPDATE 2: Lamb is officially ACTIVE.

Lamb (hip) wasn't on the Cowboys' injury report early in the week before failing to practice on Friday. He was a surprise "questionable" last week with a groin issue before ultimately playing, so the hope is this week is similar, but fantasy owners can't take anything for granted given the Sunday night kickoff time.

Lamb is good enough to wait for despite his "questionable" status. He's seen at least eight targets in every game (10 per game) and scored in two of the past three contests. The Eagles have somewhat struggled against WRs this year, allowing five total WRs touchdowns and at least six catches to WR1s in all but one game. The only top WR to miss that mark was Christian Kirk, who had just two catches on nine targets against Philadelphia during a rainstorm in Week 4.

WEEK 6 PPR RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers

If Lamb fails to suit up, the most obvious pivots are either Michael Gallup (50-percent owned in Yahoo leagues) or Noah Brown, both of whom should see six-plus targets for Dallas if Lamb is out. Other desperation pivots include Quez Watkins, K.J. Hamler, and Josh Palmer, who has the highest ceiling if Keenan Allen (hamstring) is out. That's not an inspiring group, but all it takes is one big play for them to pay off.

WEEK 6 STANDARD RANKINGS:

The other variable for this game is whether Dak Prescott (thumb) plays. At this point, it seems as if Lamb would be better off with Cooper Rush under center than a less-than-100-percent Prescott, but both QBs offer similar outlooks for Lamb. His ultimate ceiling is higher with a healthy Prescott, but he has a good thing going with Rush right now. Don't let the Cowboys' QB situation affect whether you start Lamb.
