Is Brandin Cooks playing Week 10? Fantasy injury update for Texans-Giants image

There's a ton of uncertainty around the Week 10 status of Texans' wide receiver Brandin Cooks, who did not play in last week's game because of frustration over not being traded. The veteran wide receiver is again listed as "questionable" due to personal reasons and a wrist injury after missing practice time ahead of Sunday's game against the Giants. Even if he's active, fantasy football owners are facing some tough start 'em, sit 'em decisions with Cooks, who's shaping up to be one of this season's biggest WR busts.

We'll continue to update this article with news on Cooks until the official active/inactive report comes out on Sunday around 11:35 a.m. ET.

UPDATE: ESPN's Adam Schefter reported late Saturday night that Cooks is expected to play on Sunday against the Giants.

UPDATE 2: Cooks is officially ACTIVE.

Cooks (personal) is officially listed as "questionable" on Houston's final injury report ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Giants. At this point, it would not be a surprise to see Cooks sitting out for another week, as he's continued to express displeasure about his current situation, but he at least practiced in a limited fashion on Thursday and Friday.

The last time we saw the vet play was in Week 8 against the Titans when he had four receptions (six targets) for 73 yards. Volume and big-play potential keeps Cooks as a WR3 in most formats, even in a tough matchup against a Giants' defense that allows the fourth-fewest fantasy points to WRs this season. However, given the matchup, his disappointing season, and the uncertainty surrounding his availability, it wouldn't be a surprise if his owners have mostly written him off, at least for this week.

If Cooks doesn't play, the Texans' wide receiver unit will be led by a combination of Chris Moore, Nico Collins (groin), and Phillip Dorsett. It is not a great collection of receivers, with all having similar outlooks. None are worth starting as flexes in even deep leagues given the matchup and unpredictability of targets.
