Fantasy WR Rankings Week 8: Who to start, sit at wide receiver in fantasy football image

The NFL season is flying by, as we’re officially into the second half of the fantasy football regular season. It's likely make-or-break time for a lot of owners, and our Week 8 fantasy WR rankings for standard leagues can help you spot sleepers and avoid busts at fantasy's deepest position. It certainly helps that some of the league’s best pass-catchers are back in action after a brutal four-team bye.

Cooper Kupp (vs. 49ers in Week 7) is back atop the WR rankings, and Justin Jefferson (vs. Cardinals), A.J. Brown (vs. Steelers), and Stefon Diggs (vs. Packers) are in the top 10, as well. While those WRs return to starting lineups, a few weekly starters (Mike Williams, Keenan Allen, JuJu Smith-Schuster) will need to be replaced with bench options, as the Chiefs and Chargers are on bye in Week 8.

While it's nice the byes won't be a big worry this week, injuries continue to be an issue. Amon-Ra St. Brown (concussion), DK Metcalf (knee), Allen Lazard (shoulder), Michael Thomas (toe), and Jahan Dotson (hamstring) are the most notable names we'll be watching this week, but Julio Jones (knee) and Elijah Moore (personal) are also key receivers who sat out last week and could have value going forward if they can get back on the field.

WEEK 8 STANDARD RANKINGS
QBs | RBs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers

In shallower leagues, some bubble WRs who could end up in starting lineups due to favorable matchups include Alec Pierce and Parris Campbell (vs. Commanders), Darius Slayton and Wan'Dale Robinson (@ Seahawks), Josh Reynolds (vs. Dolphins), Hunter Renfrow (@ Saints), and Tyler Boyd (@ Browns). All of these pass catchers have a real shot to rack up four-plus receptions for 50-plus yards and a touchdown in matchups mostly against bottom-10 WR defenses, making them viable WR3s/flexes in standard formats.

WEEK 8 PPR RANKINGS
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers

That list doesn't include Adam Thielen (vs. Cardinals), Drake London (vs. Panthers), and D.J. Moore (vs. Falcons), who might be on shallow benches but look good with favorable matchups in Week 8. We also think you can stick with guys like Rondale Moore (@ Vikings), Jakobi Meyers (@ Jets), Curtis Samuel and Terry McLaurin (@ Colts), Allen Lazard (@ Bills), if active, Donovan Peoples-Jones (vs. Bengals), and Robert Woods (@ Texans) despite varying matchups because all get steady targets. Moore is the biggest risk, but he's an explosive enough playmaker to make up for his target concerns. The same goes for Marquise Goodwin (vs. Giants) if Metcalf is out.

WEEK 8 DFS: Best values | Best stacks

Deeper-league, matchup-based streamers who could find themselves in starting lineups include Mack Hollins (@ Saints), Terrace Marshall Jr. (@ Falcons), Nico Collins (vs. Titans), Tre’Quan Smith (vs. Raiders), Olamide Zaccheaus (vs. Panthers), and Trent Sherfield (@ Lions), but there's no need to use these guys in shallow leagues.

WEEK 8 DFS LINEUPS: DraftKings | FanDuel

Lastly, some bubble WRs with tougher matchups to potentially avoid include Courtland Sutton (@ Jaguars), Zay Jones (vs. Broncos), Devin Duvernay (@ Buccaneers), Robbie Anderson (@ Vikings), George Pickens and Chase Claypool (@ Eagles), Allen Robinson (vs. 49ers), Darnell Mooney (@ Cowboys), Romeo Doubs (@ Bills), and Garrett Wilson (vs. Patriots). We still have some hope for Sutton, but Jones might actually be the safest of this group. Check all options before starting any of these guys.

WEEK 8 FANTASY PICKS: Sleepers | Busts | Start 'em, sit 'em

Note: We'll be updating these WR rankings as needed throughout the week, so check back for the latest changes.
