Fantasy WR Rankings Week 5: Who to start, sit at wide receiver in fantasy football image

As we head into Week 5, some fantasy football owners feel as if they have a well-rounded roster that's capable of making noise in the fantasy playoffs. Others might feel the season's already over. Regardless of your current outlook, you can't quit, and our Week 5 fantasy WR rankings for standard leagues are here to help you find potential sleepers and busts at fantasy's deepest position.

Despite not leading his team in fantasy points at the WR position, Ja'Marr Chase headlines our Week 5 rankings against a Ravens defense that hasn't been as stout as seasons past. Outside of Chase sitting at No. 1, they're aren't too many surprises for those sure-fire starters. This week, the most notable changes might be in regards to some of the bigger-named WRs whose rankings have taken slight hits, mostly because of matchups. That group includes Deebo Samuel (@ Panthers in Week 5), Drake London (@ Buccaneers), and Michael Pittman Jr. (@ Broncos). You might also be worried about Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle (@ Jets) playing with Teddy Bridgewater, but both receivers are such YAC monsters that they should be fine in this matchup.

While those guys are likely still in your starting lineups, it's worth knowing there's a chance they don't produce at the level they usually do given their matchups. Some other usual starters who see their rankings take a hit based on tougher matchups include Jerry Jeudy (vs. Colts), Rashod Bateman (vs. Bengals), Tyler Lockett (@ Saints), D.J. Moore (vs. 49ers), Adam Thielen (vs. Bears), Brandon Aiyuk (@ Panthers), and Allen Robinson (vs. Cowboys). Most of these guys will still be started in deeper leagues, but for those in shallower leagues, they might be the odd men out. Ditto for deeper pulls like Romeo Doubs and Allen Lazard (vs. Giants) and Josh Reynolds (@ Patriots).

WEEK 5 STANDARD RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers

Perhaps more worrisome were the disappearing acts pulled by Gabriel Davis (vs. Steelers), DeVonta Smith (@ Cardinals), Diontae Johnson (@ Bills), and Terry McLaurin (@ Titans) in Week 4. We're not overly concerned about any yet, but Davis' nagging ankle injury and insufficient QB play for McLaurin and Johnson have caused issues. We're hoping Johnson takes off with Kenny Pickett now under center, but he'll have a tough matchup this week.

WEEK 5 PPR RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers

Keenan Allen (hamstring), Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle), Jakobi Meyers (knee), Zay Jones (ankle), and Michael Thomas (toe) were some of the big-named pass-catchers to miss Week 4 but are still included in our Week 5 rankings. If any are out, it opens the door for sleepers like Josh Palmer (@ Browns), Reynolds (@ Patriots), DeVante Parker (vs. Lions), and Jamal Agnew (vs. Texans), among others. Parker and Palmer would be especially interesting given their matchups, but none are sure things.

WEEK 5 DFS LINEUPS: FanDuel | DraftKings

More bubble WRs with favorable matchups include Garrett Wilson, Elijah Moore, and Corey Davis (vs. Dolphins), Tyler Boyd (@ Ravens), Michael Gallup and Noah Brown (@ Rams), Robert Woods (@ Commanders), Julio Jones and Russell Gage (vs. Falcons), and Isaiah McKenzie (vs. Steelers). While most aren't the top options in their teams' respective passing games (except for one of the Jets and Woods now that Treylon Burks is hurt), these auxiliary pass-catchers have the chance to post solid fantasy performances this week.
