Fantasy WR PPR Rankings Week 3: Who to start, sit at wide receiver in fantasy football

Fantasy WR PPR Rankings Week 3: Who to start, sit at wide receiver in fantasy football image

PPR scoring formats tend to be a bit easier to predict future performance relative to standard scoring formats, but as always, touchdowns can skew those projections. Our Week 3 fantasy WR PPR rankings don't differ too much from our standard rankings, mainly due to it only being Week 3 and it still being too early to make concrete conclusions. Given the NFL is a week-to-week league, we can't rely entirely on stats from the first weeks, but we're getting a much better gauge for how team's offenses will operate and which WRs will see the highest target shares.

Of course, the top receivers generally all get a lot of targets, so there isn't much movement at the top of our PPR rankings compared to our standard rankings. Some guys stand out a little more, particularly the Dolphins' duo of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle (vs. Bills in Week 3) and Detroit's Amon-Ra St. Brown (@ Vikings), but for the most part, the studs are the studs in both formats.

It's further down the list we really start to see some differentiation. Heading into Week 3, Tyler Lockett (vs. Falcons), Jakobi Meyers (vs. Ravens), and Curtis Samuel (vs. Eagles) are all rising quickly (and it doesn't hurt it looks like they all have favorable matchups this week). Even further down, guys like Hunter Renfrow (@ Titans), Sterling Shepard (vs. Cowboys), Greg Dortch (vs. Rams), and Garrett Wilson (vs. Bengals) are starting to make noise. All have more value in PPR leagues and are in play as at least flexes this week.

WEEK 3 STANDARD RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | D/STs | Kickers

Speaking of matchups, we're starting to get a better sense of what's truly favorable and unfavorable. In addition to the guys we already mentioned, bubble receivers like Adam Thielen (vs. Lions), DeVonta Smith (@ Commanders), Darnell Mooney (vs. Texans), and Nelson Agholor (vs. Ravens) look to be in good spots. Chase Claypool and George Pickens (@ Browns) are also in a good spot, but given Pittsburgh's offensive woes, we would only use Diontae Johnson on that team.

UPDATE: Similarly, we'd only trust Julio Jones (knee) out of Tampa's WRs. With Mike Evans suspended and Chris Godwin (hamstring) likely out, it's certainly possible one of Breshad Perriman, Russell Gage, and Scotty Miller (vs. Packers) has a big game (especially if Jones is out again), but good luck guessing which one. We like Gage slightly more than Perriman, but consider all boom-or-bust flexes, at best.

WEEK 3 PPR RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers

On the flip side, Brandon Aiyuk (@ Broncos) and Allen Lazard (@ Buccaneers) are the main bubble receivers with what look to be bad matchups, but we're also much more cautious about advising against players based on matchups this early in the year. Instead, focus on things like targets and target share, especially in PPR leagues.

WEEK 3 DFS LINEUPS: FanDuel | DraftKings | Yahoo

Some Week 1 heroes turned into Week 2 zeroes, namely Robbie Anderson (vs. Saints), Jarvis Landry (@ Panthers), and Devin Duvernay (@ Patriots), though he exited early due to a concussion. These guys still have flex upside in Week 3, but obviously, they're far from sure things. That's also true for players like Elijah Moore (vs. Bengals), JuJu Smith-Schuster (@ Colts), and DJ Chark (@ Vikings), all of whom have been inconsistent through two weeks.

WEEK 3 FANTASY PICKS: Sleepers | Busts | Start 'em, sit 'em

Of course, sometimes your hand is forced by injuries, and we once again saw a big one in Week 2, as Jerry Jeudy (ribs) exited early. With Keenan Allen (hamstring), Michael Pittman (quad), Julio Jones (knee), Chris Godwin (hamstring), Michael Gallup (knee), Van Jefferson (knee), and Rondale Moore (hamstring) also missing the week, some owners are undoubted shorthanded. Gallup is expected back this week, which will hurt the rising value of Noah Brown (@ Giants), but the rest are question marks. If Allen is out, Josh Palmer (vs. Jaguars) is once again in play.

WEEK 3 DFS: Best values | Best stacks
