Fantasy WR PPR Rankings Week 2: Who to start, sit at wide receiver in fantasy football image

Now that Week 1 is in the books, it's officially overreaction season. It's natural for fantasy owners to want to jump ship on a player after a disappointing Week 1 or label a late-round flier a fantasy steal following his breakout performance, but it's just one week, people. Instead of making conclusions, observe and monitor what occurred last week, but don't declare it the end all be all. Our Week 2 fantasy WR PPR rankings are here to help you sort through the pretenders and contenders and make the best start 'em, sit 'em decisions.

Robert Woods (@ Bills), CeeDee Lamb (vs. Bengals), Mike Williams (@ Chiefs), Darnell Mooney (@ Packers), Diontae Johnson (vs. Patriots), DeVonta Smith (vs. Vikings), Amari Cooper (vs. Jets), and Allen Robinson (vs. Falcons) are among the WRs who failed to meet expectations in Week 1. It's tough to already proclaim these WRs as busts, but a low target share for all but Johnson and Lamb isn't a great sign of their season-long prospects (nor is Dak Prescott's hand injury for Lamb). Their Week 2 rankings have taken a hit, but they're still in position to bounce back based on talent alone.

WEEK 2 STANDARD RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/ST | Kicker

We did see several breakout performances, including Jahan Dotson and Curtis Samuel (@ Lions), Devin Duvernay (vs. Dolphins), Robbie Anderson (@ Giants), and Jarvis Landry (vs. Buccaneers), which is a good sign for the future. None were pegged as must-starts in our Week 1 rankings, but given they logged a high snap count with a respectable target share, they instantly vault into at least bubble status. Samuel (11 targets), Landry (9), and Anderson (8) are especially interesting in PPR leagues.

WEEK 2 PPR RANKINGS:
QBs | RBsTEs | D/ST | Kicker

Staying in line with making observations rather than conclusions, Jerry Jeudy (vs. Texans), JuJu Smith-Schuster (vs. Chargers), Hunter Renfrow (vs. Cardinals), Mooney (@ Packers), Drake London (@ Rams), and Dotson and Samuel (@ Lions) look to be in line for reliable Week 2 fantasy outputs given their matchups against defenses that struggled in pass coverage last week. The Patriots also struggled, but we're still leery of Mitchell Trubisky, so we can't recommend Chase Claypool or George Pickens despite Claypool's active role in the running game (six carries, 36 yards).

WEEK 2 FANTASY PICKS: Sleepers | BustsStart 'em, sit 'em

A few WRs who you might be on the fence about starting with tougher matchups include Landry and Chris Olave (@ Buccaneers), Allen Lazard and Romeo Doubs (vs. Bears), Woods and Treylon Burks (@ Bills), Adam Thielen (@ Eagles), and Rashod Bateman (vs. Dolphins). Bateman should be fine despite running routes against talented cornerbacks, but other than him, only Landry saw enough targets to merit the risk in shallow PPR leagues.

WEEK 2 DFS: Best values | Best stacks

Injuries once again shake up our WR rankings, as Chris Godwin (hamstring), Keenan Allen (hamstring), and Tee Higgins (concussion) went down with injuries on Sunday. Add them to already banged-up receivers Van Jefferson (knee), Rondale Moore (hamstring), and Lazard (ankle), and some fantasy owners might already be looking to the waiver wire for viable streamers. We'll continue to monitor these WRs throughout the week, as some of the aforementioned pass catchers warrant a starting spot if healthy. If Allen is out -- a distinct possibility since the Chargers play on Thursday -- that opens the door for either DeAndre Carter or Josh Palmer (@ Chiefs) to be a boom-or-bust sleeper. If Higgins is out, Tyler Boyd (Cowboys) makes for a solid PPR flex. Julio Jones (@ Saints) becomes a solid WR3 with Godwin out.

WEEK 2 DFS LINEUPS: FanDuel | DraftKings | Yahoo

With it only being Week 2, it can be wise to simply start your studs and not think much about it. One result shouldn't deter you too much, but we understand your hesitation if that same player fails to meet expectations after this week. A high snap rate, red-zone target share and high aDOT is a better indication of future performance. By understanding this, you'll be better equipped to make the right roster decisions going forward.

We'll be updating these standard WR PPR rankings as needed throughout the week, so check back for the latest changes and analysis.
