Fantasy Waiver Wire Week 7: Latavius Murray, Greg Dulcich, Rondale Moore among top free agent pickups image

Don't you just love Monday night surprises? Fantasy football owners got two this past week with Greg Dulcich paying off in his much-anticipated debut and Latavius Murray taking over for Melvin Gordon. Both will join the likes of Kenyan Drake, Deon Jackson, and Rondale Moore among the top Week 7 fantasy waiver pickups and free agent adds. None are "must-haves," but they all qualify as potential free agent adds after waivers clear around 4-5 a.m. ET on Wednesday mornings in Yahoo and ESPN leagues.

Our full free agent list consists primarily of Week 7 streamer recommendations. Between injuries and a tough set of byes (Bills, Eagles, Rams, Vikings), more than a few fantasy owners will be hitting the wire in search of fill-ins. We only have a couple of worthwhile TE suggestions, but there are a host of QBs, WRs, and D/STs. All streamer recommendations can be found at the end of the list.

While this will be a busy week on the free agent wire, it could be quiet on the waiver wire. Drake and Jackson could potentially merit high claims, but multiple injury issues cloud both situations, dimming their outlooks. Murray is in a similar spot in Denver's confusing backfield, but chances are he'll be claimed by someone. High-upside receivers like Moore, Wan'Dale Robinson, Alec Pierce, and even Robbie Anderson could be worth low claims in 12-team leagues, but a top-five claim is simply too much to give up for those types of receivers.

WEEK 7 FANTASY: Full waiver list | FAAB plannerTrade advice

As tough as this week figures to be for a lot of fantasy owners, burning through your waiver position for a streamer doesn't make sense. There will be more injuries, breakouts, and bye-week issues in the coming weeks, so unless you're desperate at a certain position, hold tight and make improvements through free agency.

Top fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Week 7

Unless otherwise noted, only players owned in fewer than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues are considered.

Latavius Murray, RB, Broncos. Murray operated as Denver's primary runner on Monday night, picking up 66 yards on 15 carries. Mike Boone had just one carry, and Melvin Gordon managed just three before being benched, seemingly for no reason. Gordon entered the contest with ankle and rib issues, but no injury was reported during the game. It's anyone's guess as to which back will lead the way next week against the Jets, but at this point, Murray has to be considered the leader in the clubhouse. At the very least, he's worth a free agent add on the chance he continues to be a key part of Denver's backfield.

Rondale Moore, WR, Cardinals. After missing the first three games of the season due to a hamstring injury, Moore has established himself as Arizona's No. 2 receiver, catching 16-of-23 targets for 128 yards. He's played more snaps and increased his targets every week, culminating in a 10-target performance in Week 6. With Marquise Brown (foot) potentially missing at least the next six games, Moore will be forced to step up and enhance his role as Arizona's No. 2 receiver behind DeAndre Hopkins. Given Moore's versatility and explosiveness, he's a must-own in 12-team leagues, and he should have WR2 upside in a favorable matchup against the Saints in Week 7.

Greg Dulcich, TE, Broncos. Dulcich received a lot of buzz in the preseason, but a hamstring injury sidelined him for the first five games. He lived up to the sleeper hype in his Week 6 debut, catching two-of-three targets for 44 yards and a TD. Perhaps most telling was that Albert Okwuegbunam was a healthy scratch, indicating the primary TE job is Dulcich's to lose. He's worth grabbing in 12-team leagues, especially with a favorable matchup against the Jets coming up in Week 7.

WEEK 7 PPR RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers

Robbie Anderson, WR, Cardinals. Anderson clearly wore out his welcome in Carolina, and after his Monday trade to Arizona, he has fantasy upside again. Marquise Brown (foot) will reportedly miss at least the next six weeks, so Anderson will fall in line behind DeAndre Hopkins and Rondale Moore for targets. Given their shaky injury histories, Anderson could find himself seeing a healthy amount of looks in Arizona's uptempo attack sooner rather than later. Grab him now even if he doesn't play in Week 7 against New Orleans.

Gus Edwards, RB, Ravens. Edwards' 21-day window to return was opened on Oct. 6, and he's reportedly "getting close" to returning. This week seems likely, and with JK Dobbins' recent knee issues, Edwards could find himself in a key role as soon as he's activated. Given his career 5.2-yards-per-carry average, he's worth stashing, as he could carve out fantasy value even if Dobbins is healthy.
