Fantasy TE PPR Rankings Week 6: Who to start, sit at tight end in fantasy football image

Bye weeks are here, and finding tight end streamers with sneaky value is even more crucial. We know touchdowns are sometimes our only saving grace for TEs in standard leagues, but PPR leagues give us a little more hope with backups and waiver wire pickups. As always, our Week 6 fantasy TE PPR rankings can help with your start 'em, sit 'em decisions in a tougher-than-usual week.

There aren't any incredibly tough matchups to discuss with the studs at the position, but it is worth noting Kyle Pitts is off the table with a Week 6 bye. Juwan Johnson and Adam Trautman are on a bye, too, but they've been a tough duo to trust to begin with. George Kittle (calf) would've been a big loss this week if he wasn't already on IR and out until Week 8.

Mike Gesicki (@ Jaguars) is easily the most attractive borderline fantasy starter this week. With Jacoby Brissett, he's been ultra-productive, so he should be moved into the must-start category against a bottom-tier Jags defense.  Zach Ertz (Buccaneers) will serve as the primary tight end in the absence of Dallas Goedert (COVID-19). We've seen time and time again Tampa Bay's passing defense is putrid, and the Eagles' duo has been respectable this year. Ertz has top-five upside. Jared Cook (@ Ravens) is a good play on paper, too. Baltimore has allowed the most fantasy points to tight ends, but it is worth noting they've faced Travis Kelce, T.J. Hockenson, and Darren Waller. That said, don't expect Cook to have a nuclear performance, but the opportunity is there. Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry (vs. Cowboys) could enjoy success, as well, but they've been up and down this season. Henry seems to have jumped ahead of Smith for key targets.

WEEK 6 PPR RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | D/ST | Kicker

Tyler Conklin (vs. Panthers), David Njoku (vs. Cardinals), and Austin Hooper (vs. Cardinals) have each enjoyed weeks of solid fantasy production, but this week feels like the time to leave them on the bench/waiver wire if you have the means to do so. Carolina has been tough on virtually all positions, and Arizona has been death on TEs this year. Additionally, Baker Mayfield's early-season struggles make everyone in the Browns' passing game risky.

WEEK 6 STANDARD RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

Rob Gronkowski (ribs) could make his return to the field this week, but Tampa Bay plays on Thursday night, so be sure to monitor his situation early in the week. Based on his play this year, he's a must-start against the Eagles, and Cameron Brate has some boom-or-bust upside if Gronk is out. Ricky Seals-Jones (vs. Chiefs) is also a solid streamer given his high target total last week.

WEEK 6 FANTASY: Sleepers | Busts | Start 'em, sit 'em

We're five weeks through the season, and the tight end pecking order is beginning to take shape. Dawson Knox (@ Titans) and Dalton Schultz (@ Patriots) are establishing themselves as "must-starts," but a no-name guy can emerge as a top-five play any given week with no warning. That said, we have to lean on targets, matchups, and quarterback play to find the diamonds in the rough, especially with the bye weeks here.
