Fantasy QB Rankings Week 2: Who to start, sit at quarterback in fantasy football image

After an action-packed first Sunday of the NFL season, most of the top QBs lived up to their preseason expectations, but as always, some failed to produce at the level fantasy owners had hoped for (lookin' at you Dak Prescott, Trey Lance, Aaron Rodgers, and Matthew Stafford). It's still way too early to hit the panic button if your QB busted with only one week in the books, but it could be worth monitoring the waiver wire for an emerging QB sleeper if you're that worried. Regardless of whether you're 1-0 or 0-1, our Week 2 fantasy QB rankings aim to help you get a "W" this week.

As the season continues to progress, we'll have more stats and data to help sharpen up our projections, both for QBs and defenses. Still, with only a one-game data set, we have to take into account what we saw last week along with our preseason priors. Ultimately, there's not much deviation at the top of our QB rankings, as Bills QB Josh Allen (vs. Titans) headlines our list following his massive 33.48-point effort in Buffalo's 31-10 beatdown of the Rams.

WEEK 2 PPR RANKINGS:
RBs | WRs | TEs | D/ST | Kicker

Of all the Week 1 disappointments, Prescott's stings the most, as he'll miss several weeks due to a broken hand. Cooper Rush (vs. Bengals) will take over, but he's not someone those in single-QB leagues need to worry about

WEEK 2 FANTASY PICKS: Sleepers | BustsStart 'em, sit 'em

Among non-injured QBs, Rodgers' (vs. Bears) and Lance's (vs. Seahawks) rankings take a hit following lackluster Week 1 performances. We like their matchups, so if they get some key targets back (Allen Lazard, George Kittle, respectively) and Lance doesn't have to play in a rain storm, they should produce solid numbers. Still, there are obviously reasons to worry about both. Stafford (vs. Falcons) doesn't really have those worries, as his targets are healthy and he's in no danger of losing his job. He actually moves up in our rankings compared to last week because of his matchup. The Falcons, who gave up 269 yards and two TDs to Jameis Winston in Week 1, profile as a much more favorable opponent than the Bills. Remember, in fantasy, fortunes can change on a weekly basis.

WEEK 2 STANDARD RANKINGS:
RBs | WRs | TEs | D/ST | Kicker

Other bubble QBs with enticing Week 2 matchups include Derek Carr (vs. Cardinals), Tua Tagovailoa (@ Ravens), Matt Ryan (@ Jaguars), and Justin Fields (@ Packers). The Cardinals defense had big issues in coverage (though, to be fair, they were playing Patrick Mahomes), making Carr a virtual must-start QB in Week 2. Tagovailoa also impressed, showing instant rapport with Tyreek Hill. Ryan and Fields remain risky and are probably best left for two-QB/superflex leagues. The same goes for Carson Wentz (@ Lions) even though we liked what we saw from him and his receivers.

WEEK 2 DFS: Best values | Best stacks

Kirk Cousins (@ Eagles) and Winston (vs. Buccaneers) are also decent starts after their efficient Week 1 showings. Cousins really shined in the Vikings' new-look offense, and he should continue to play well against a good-but-not-great Eagles' defense. Winston shook off a slow start to post solid stats, but the continued presence of Taysom Hill remains annoying.

WEEK 2 DFS LINEUPS: FanDuel | DraftKings | Yahoo

Overall, we're not too worried about the matchups of any top QBs. Joe Burrow (@ Cowboys) might be the riskiest, but that's just as much because of his interception-filled opener as it is the Cowboys' defense. If Tee Higgins (concussion) doesn't play, Burrow becomes slightly riskier.

Again, we've only seen one game from each team, so it's not wise to make conclusions just yet. It's best to take everything with a grain of salt knowing the NFL is a week-to-week league. Last week's hero could be this week's bust and vice/versa.

Note: We'll be updating these QB rankings as needed throughout the week, so check back for the latest changes.
