Fantasy QB Rankings Week 11: Who to start, sit at quarterback in fantasy football image

Sleepers and streamers remain important at quarterback, especially as we head toward the fantasy playoffs. Our Week 11 fantasy QB rankings can help you determine if you should stick with your usual starter or look for a potential waiver wire fill-in. This week, we lose only Matthew Stafford and Teddy Bridgewater to byes, but we get back four signal-callers in addition to a "new" name with plenty of dual-threat upside.

Sophomores Justin Herbert (vs. Steelers) and Joe Burrow (@ Raiders) have been studs this year, but they find themselves in tricky matchups this week. Both Pittsburgh and Las Vegas are in the top 10 for fewest fantasy points per game allowed to QBs, but Herbert and Burrow have shown us enough to warrant heavy starting consideration. You can't really bench either unless you have another stud, so do what you have to do. Based on Burrow's preseason ADP, you might just possess someone ranked ahead of him.

WEEK 11 PPR RANKINGS:
Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

Taking a look at streaming considerations, Baker Mayfield (vs. Lions), Daniel Jones (@ Buccaneers), Mac Jones (@ Falcons), and Jimmy Garoppolo (@ Jaguars) appear to be the best options if you're needing a one-week answer. Tampa Bay and Dallas are among the eight worst defenses against the position, while Detroit and Jacksonville are right behind them. They'd be a lot worse on the stat sheet if their offenses were decent enough to keep opposing offenses passing.

WEEK 11 STANDARD RANKINGS:
Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

We'd be lying if we said we weren't a little bit intrigued by Cam Newton (vs. Washington), assuming he gets the start. He'll still have rushing upside and be used as a weapon at the goal line, but we're not confident enough to rank him as a QB1. He could just as easily score 12 points as 25. That said, Washington is dead last in fantasy points per game allowed to QBs, so it's not completely crazy to take a chance on him.

WEEK 11 FANTASY: Sleepers | Busts | Start 'em, sit 'em

Justin Fields (vs. Ravens) is another gamble, but he looked like he was turning the corner during a stellar Week 9 against the Steelers. Making him even more enticing is that Baltimore was the 12th-worst defense against fantasy QBs heading into Week 10. Continue to monitor the quarterback situation for New Orleans, too. If Taysom Hill (@ Eagles) takes over the starting job, he'll join the QB1 conversion with his rushing upside.

WEEK 11 DFS LINEUPS: DraftKings | FanDuel | Yahoo

Carson Wentz (@ Bills) has been a huge help for streamer-needy teams, but he should grab a spot on your bench against the No.1 QB defense. Matt Ryan (vs. Patriots) has also emerged in recent weeks, but we're not playing any mid-tier QBs against Bill Belichick and the Pats' defense. Until we know if Tua Tagovailoa (@ Jets) is healthy, we're not too optimistic about him& even in a favorable matchup with the lowly Jets.

WEEK 11 DFS: Best stacks | Best values | Lineup Builder

We've made it this far, so keep chugging along at QB as you look to contend for a championship. If you own Kyler Murray or Patrick Mahomes, you should be looking ahead to their Week 12 byes and grabbing a QB with a good matchup that week.

Note: We'll be updating these QB rankings throughout the week, so check back for the latest player movement and analysis.

Fantasy QB Rankings Week 11: Who to start at quarterback

Rankings are based on standard, four-point passing TD formats.

Rank Player
1 Tom Brady, TB vs. NYG
2 Dak Prescott, DAL @ KC
3 Josh Allen, BUF vs. IND
4 Jalen Hurts, PHI vs. NO
5 Kyler Murray, ARI @ SEA
6 Patrick Mahomes, KC vs. DAL
7 Lamar Jackson, BAL @ CHI
8 Aaron Rodgers, GB @ MIN
9 Russell Wilson, SEA vs. ARI. Yes, Wilson played one of the worst games of his career against Green Bay, but it was his first game back, so we expected some rust. He'll get healthier each week, and it's tough to ever justify benching him, even in another tough matchup with Arizona.
10 Ryan Tannehill, TEN vs. HOU. Tannehill has quietly averaged over 20 points per game in his past four contests, and the matchup couldn't be much sweeter than Houston. The Texans are a bottom-ten team against fantasy QBs and Tannehill's five rushing touchdowns on the season demonstrate his upside. With Derrick Henry (foot) out, he's had more opportunities through the air and on the ground in the red zone.
11 Joe Burrow, CIN @ LV. Las Vegas was the seventh-best defense against fantasy QBs before being shredded by Patrick Mahomes, but hey, that was Mahomes. That said, we're not going to consider Las Vegas a great matchup, but they certainly have weaknesses. We view them as at least an OK matchup and expect Burrow to get back to putting up around 20 points after a lone down week against Cleveland before the Bengals' Week 10 bye.
12 Justin Herbert, LAC vs. PIT. Herbert has three games of over 30 fantasy points, so his upside keeps him as QB1, even if it's a low-end QB1. When he's on, he's one of the best in the game, so we're not penalizing him too much for his poor Week 10 performance. Pittsburgh was the 10th-best defense against fantasy QBs before shutting down Jared Goff, so while we do note this is a tough matchup, we'll take the upside of Herbert rather than trusting some mid-tier streamers seen below.
13 Daniel Jones, NYG @ TB. After a strong start to the season, Jones has tailed off, but Tampa Bay is the ninth-worst defense against fantasy QBs and Jones will likely have to pass and/or scramble to keep up with Tom Brady and the Buccaneers' weapons on offense. He's another guy that will have chances to score rushing touchdowns, so he's our favorite pure streamer this week. He also might have his full complement of pass-catchers and running backs for the first time in a long time.
14 Kirk Cousins, MIN vs. GB. Cousins' fantasy prospects often fall victim to a run-heavy game script, but we think Minnesota is going to be forced to air in out in this contest. Green Bay is a top-10 defense against fantasy QBs, but their weakness still lies in the secondary. Cousins has averaged over 30 passing attempts, 270 yards, and two touchdowns in his career against the Packers, and a stat line like that this week is very reasonable at home.
15 Mac Jones, NE @ ATL. Jones might not throw for a ton of yards and lack rushing upside, but he's efficient and effective. Over the past five weeks, he's thrown for eight touchdowns to just two interceptions. This week, he'll play against Atlanta, who gave up the fifth-most fantasy points per game to QBs before getting destroyed by Dak Prescott in Week 10.
16 Baker Mayfield, CLE vs. DET. Mayfield (knee) left the game against the Patriots early, but assuming he's healthy, he might have some streaming appeal. The Lions have a bottom-10 defense against fantasy QBs, but there's the risk Cleveland simply runs the ball all game, which might be the smartest strategy. Mayfield is far from a safe option, but he should be in a position to score a lot.
17 Derek Carr, LV vs. CIN. Carr is one of those classic pocket-passer QBs with a high ceiling but low floor, so his matchup determines a lot about how he is ranked. Cincinnati is solid against QBs, ranking as the 13th-best unit against the position. Mike White tore them up, but we have to think that was more of a fluke than anything. Ultimately, Carr's outlook this week is exactly as we explained -- low floor and high ceiling.
18 Jimmy Garoppolo, SF @ JAX. Jimmy G is another guy who has streaming appeal, as we know Jacksonville's defense (and especially secondary) leaves a lot to be desired. Deebo Samuel and George Kittle look like studs again, and we've seen some life out of Brandon Aiyuk in recent weeks. As long as Garoppolo gets a respectable number of attempts, he'll have a high floor.
19 Tyrod Taylor, HOU @ TEN. Tennessee has looked solid on defense in recent weeks, but there is a path to success against them -- even if it's in garbage time. Tennessee gave up the eight-most fantasy points per game to QBs heading into Week 10, then allowed Trevor Siemian to score a respectable 19 points. Taylor has rushing upside, and if he can feed Brandin Cooks enough, he could approach those numbers, too.
20 Cam Newton, CAR vs. WAS. Newton is expected to start against Washington -- the No. 32 defense against fantasy QBs. That said, we'll have to see how Newton looks in the passing game before we're comfortable moving up to QB1 range. He scored two touchdowns against Arizona, but he was set up near the goal line on both occasions. We know he's a red-zone and goal-line threat, but will he be better in the passing game than what we saw of him in New England? Time will tell. We understand if you'd rather chase his rushing upside than put your faith in a guy like Mac Jones, Baker Mayfield, or Tyrod Taylor, though.
21 Justin Fields, CHI vs. BAL
22 Matt Ryan, ATL vs. NE
23 Carson Wentz, IND @ BUF
24 Tua Tagovailoa, MIA @ NYJ
25 Trevor Siemian, NO @ PHI
26 Trevor Lawrence, JAX vs. SF
27 Joe Flacco, NYJ vs. MIA
28 Ben Roethlisberger, PIT @ LAC
29 Taylor Heinicke, WAS @ CAR
30 Tim Boyle, DET @ CLE
31 Taysom Hill, NO @ PHI
