There isn't much to say about our Week 8 fantasy kicker rankings, but that isn't going to stop us from trying. By this point in the season, you've either settled on a decent kicker or you're jumping from one player to the next in an attempt to chase points and/or matchups. We can help if the latter applies to you, but most fantasy football owners are in set-it-and-forget-it mode.
Fortunately, only two kickers are on bye this week (Harrison Butker, Taylor Bertolet), and neither are "must-starts." Butker's ownership percentage has crept back up now that he's over his early-season ankle issues, but he's not someone you need to hold through his bye if you started him last week.
Matchup-wise, a couple of the top kickers are in ideal situations, with Daniel Carlson (@ Saints in Week 8) and Younghoe Koo (vs. Falcons) both kicking indoors against defenses in the top 10 in fantasy points per game allowed to kickers. Tyler Bass (vs. Packers) and Evan McPherson (@ Browns) also have great matchups, but they will have to contend with the elements.
WEEK 8 PPR RANKINGS
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs
We also have our eye on Riley Patterson (vs. Broncos), Jason Myers (@ Giants), and Cade York (vs. Bengals) -- all of whom have been undervalued this year and have top-10 matchups this week. If you want to dig a little deeper and just play the numbers, you could try Randy Bullock (@ Texans) and Cairo Santos (@ Cowboys), both of whom are kicking indoors.
WEEK 8 STANDARD RANKINGS
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs
You can also avoid weather conditions with Wil Lutz (vs. Raiders), Greg Joseph (vs. Cardinals), Matt Prater (@ Vikings), and Ka'imi Fairbairn (vs. Titans). They should all post solid numbers despite varying levels of matchups.
WEEK 8 DFS LINEUPS: DraftKings | FanDuel
There aren't any "must-sits" at kicker, at least among the guys who might be on your roster. Looking at matchups can help if you're trying to decide between two similar guys, but for the most part, you just want to target the kickers who get consistent opportunities and are fairly accurate, especially from long range. That will result in the most points throughout the season. This position is almost impossible to predict, so stay the course and trust the most consistent guys.
