Fantasy Kicker Rankings Week 17: Who to start, sit at kicker in fantasy football image

Making it to your fantasy football championship matchup is a great feeling, but the one unfortunate side effect is you still have to care about start 'em, sit 'em decisions at kicker. Fortunately, we've bought into the whole "spirit of giving" aspect of the holiday season, and we're here to help by offering up our Week 17 fantasy kicker rankings.

We gave noticeable bumps to a bunch of kickers who are playing indoors this week. Avoiding potentially bad weather is one of the best gifts you can give yourself this time of year, and finding solid kickers with favorable, indoor matchups should be your primary strategy.

Factoring in both kicking environment and matchup, Younghoe Koo (vs. Cardinals in Week 17), Cameron Dicker (vs. Rams), Riley Patterson (@ Texans), Matt Gay (@ Chargers), Robbie Gould (@ Raiders), and Matt Prater (@ Falcons) are the best options available in over 50 percent of leagues. All have above-average matchups, and all will be in stadiums with a roof. As we point out every week, SoFi Stadium is technically open air, but we're not worried about the elements affecting Dicker or Gay too much.

WEEK 17 STANDARD RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs

Daniel Carlson (vs. 49ers) is also a solid indoor option, but he has a tough matchup and is heavily owned. You could also try Ka'imi Fairbairn (vs. Jaguars), who doesn't have a great matchup but has been in the top 15 in kicker points most of the season. Finally, if all you care about is "safety," then both Cairo Santos (@ Lions) and Michael Badgley (vs. Bears) are indoors and certainly capable of double-digit points if things break right.

WEEK 17 PPR RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs

You don't have to use an indoor kicker, of course. There are plenty of high-quality outdoor options with favorable matchups. Jake Elliott (vs. Saints), Chase McLaughlin (@ Giants), and Grahan Gano (vs. Colts) are in our top 10 and should be widely available. Harrison Butker (vs. Broncos) and Mason Crosby (vs. Vikings) haven't been as good this year, but they have matchups against the top-two teams in terms of fantasy points allowed to kickers, so they should at least be considered.

WEEK 17 FANTASY PICKS: Sleepers | Busts | Start 'em, sit 'em

You can always stick with tried-and-true guys like Nick Folk (vs. Dolphins), Brett Maher (@ Titans), Jason Myers (@ Jets), and Greg Zuerlein (vs. Seahawks), too. These kickers aren't in great situations, but they've been top scorers most of the season, so as long as conditions aren't prohibitive, they should be just fine.

Week 17 DFS: Best values

With your season on the line, you don't want to take any unnecessary risks at the most unpredictable position. If you have a solid kicker in optimal conditions, it's just one less thing to worry about. There are plenty of options, so find one you like and hope for the best.
