Fantasy Injury Updates Week 11: Latest news on De'Von Achane, Dameon Pierce, & Khalil Herbert image

While the running back positions remained relatively healthy considering the time of year, three fantasy-relevant backs (De'Von Achane, Dameon Pierce, Khalil Herbert) have missed multiple games with injuries. With the fantasy regular season entering the home stretch, will any of these RBs be back on the field in a crucial Week 11?

Below, we'll give you the latest news on these RBs and break down how their injuries could potentially affect the Week 11 fantasy landscape.

De'Von Achane injury update, Week 11 fantasy outlook

According to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe, the Dolphins opened Achane's 21-day practice window on Monday. The dynamic rookie RB has missed Miami's past four games dealing with a knee injury but has a real chance to return to play for the first time since Week 5.

Once the Dolphins' official Week 11 injury report comes out on Wednesday, we'll have a better sense of his playing status for Sunday's home tilt against the Raiders. A couple of full practice sessions would be ideal to ease fantasy owners' minds, but a couple of limited sessions put him on track to suit up, as well. If Achane's active, he vaults into RB2 territory as Miami's 1A RB next to Raheem Mostert in a favorable matchup. Before his injury, Achane was the No. 3 fantasy back and Mostert was No. 2, so they can both co-exist for fantasy owners.

Dameon Pierce injury update, Week 11 fantasy outlook

Pierce (ankle) missed his second straight game in Week 10 after failing to practice in the days leading up to Sunday's upset win in Cincinnati. In his absence, Devin Singletary ran all over the Bengals, totaling 150 yards and a TD on 30 carries.

It's still too early to gauge Pierce's Week 11 prospects, but if he can return to practice in at least a limited fashion, he has an outside shot to suit up against the Cardinals. Should Pierce return to game action, he draws a juicy matchup against one of the weakest run defenses in the league. That said, Pierce profiles as a risky flex play in 12-team formats, with Singletary likely to assume a larger workload moving forward. If Pierce misses his third straight game, Singletary vaults into must-start territory.

Khalil Herbert injury update, Week 11 fantasy outlook

Despite practicing in full before Week 10, the Bears opted not to activate Herbert (ankle) from injured reserve. However, fantasy owners should expect Chicago's RB1 to return in Week 11, as Herbert logged three straight full practice sessions last week and had a few extra days to heal up after the Bears played on TNF.

Even if Herbert's a full-go in Week 11, he's a risky flex play against a respectable Lions rush defense. Fellow RBs D'Onta Foreman and Roschon Johnson also figure to play a role, lowering Herbert's fantasy ceiling.
