Fantasy Injury Updates: T.Y Hilton, DeSean Jackson, Tyreek Hill affect Week 5 WR rankings image

Apparently, wide receivers whose names begin with the letters 't' and 'y' are having a rough go of it with injuries this NFL season. T.Y. Hilton and Tyreek Hill are both battling lingering ailments, and heading into Week 5, we're pretty sure there will be no Hill but Hilton could be a game-time decision for the Colts' Sunday night game in Kansas City. The Week 5 WR rankings might require updates further down, too, as DeSean Jackson and Terry McLaurin both have chances of returning in Week 5, but as of now, their statuses are still up in the air.

T.Y. Hilton injury update

Hilton was "questionable" with his quad injury at the beginning of Week 4, then downgraded to doubtful before he ended up missing last Sunday's game. The Colts are going to "monitor" Hilton this week. Indy has a dream fantasy matchup Sunday night for Hilton, with the Colts most likely throwing a lot to keep up with the Chiefs.

Hilton's going to be a tough one for fantasy owners this week because of the kickoff time. Hopefully his status is pretty clear by Friday or Saturday. If you want to have a piece of the Colts' passing offense against KC, you could back Hilton up with a stopgap. Zach Pascal led Indy in catches and yards Sunday, Chester Rogers caught the WR touchdown, Parris Campbell had the most targets, and Deon Cain had the most snaps -- good luck choosing the right one in that mess.

Is DeSean Jackson playing Week 5?

Jackson has missed the past two games because of a groin injury, but with extra time to recover before the Eagles play the Jets on Sunday, there's some hope he returns. There hasn't been a lot of news on Jackson, as we're currently in the stage where people are tweeting at him asking if he's playing this week (sadly, he hasn't responded).

The Jets are a vulnerable secondary that could provide Jackson with good numbers if he's able to suit up, making him a boom-or-bust WR3 if active. If he's out again, Nelson Agholor has some upside as the Eagles' No. 2 WR (though that resulted in zero catches last week), while Mack Hollins would remain a sneaky DFS value.

Will Terry McLaurin play Week 5?

McLaurin was a game-time decision Sunday before ending up inactive with a hamstring injury he picked up in practice last Thursday. Considering how close he was to playing in Week 4, we have to speculate that he'll have a solid shot of returning in Week 5.

It's not a friendly matchup for the Redskins, though, as they host the Patriots. If McLaurin were out, both Paul Richardson and Trey Quinn would see elevated roles against a Patriotsi defense that's allowed one offensive TD through four games.

When will Tyreek Hill be back?

Hill, who was injured Week 1, warmed up with the other Chiefs' receivers ahead of Sunday's game with no limitations. Adam Schefter reported Sunday that Hill could return in as soon as two weeks.

Sammy Watkins was off to a big Week 1 before Hill got hurt, so he's still a top-30 fantasy WR when Hill gets back. It will be more interesting to see which of Demarcus Robinson or Mecole Hardman, who've both been worthy of starting in fantasy with Hill out, loses value when he returns. It could be both of them, or just one.
