Fantasy Injury Updates: Saquon Barkley, Le'Veon Bell, Devonta Freeman affect Week 11 waiver wire pickups image

Saquon Barkley and Le'Veon Bell both provided slight scares for their fantasy owners Sunday, but both of their injuries appear minor (for now). Things don't look as positive for Devonta Freeman and Ty Johnson, both of whom may miss time and would open the door for Brian Hill and J.D. McKissic, respectively, to be top targets on the Week 11 waiver wire. We have the latest injury updates heading into another big fantasy football week.

Saquon Barkley injury update

Barkley missed time in Sunday's game to get his right shoulder checked out on the sideline, and it was reported that he went to get x-rays after the game. Giants coach Pat Shurmur didn't elaborate on what was getting checked out. Barkley has admitted in the past couple weeks that he's not necessarily playing at 100 percent after returning from his sprained ankle, and he rushed for one yard on 13 carries Sunday.

The Giants' Week 11 bye comes at the perfect time for Barkley, who didn't have any of his usual explosiveness on Sunday. Even if the x-ray did show something, the bye week will allow New York to keep everything under wraps until next week, when we'll wait for a Wednesday practice report to let us know how Barkley is doing. Wayne Gallman would fill in if Barkley is forced to miss time, and he's not a bad free agent pickup after waivers clear this week.

Le'Veon Bell injury news

Bell missed out on some plays in the fourth quarter Sunday due to sore ribs. Bell said he was trying to avoid taking "too many carries" and wearing down his body. When asked if he'll play in Week 11, Bell said, "Of course."

After popping up with a surprise knee injury last week, Bell appears like he'll be OK going forward, but at this point, it's probably time for Bell owners to handcuff him with Bilal Powell if they haven't already.

WEEK 11 PPR RANKINGS: Running backWide receiver | Tight end

Is Devonta Freeman going to miss Week 11?

Freeman exited Sunday's game with a foot injury in the third quarter and after initially ruled questionable to return, didn't make it back to the field. There were no updates after the game on Freeman's status.

(Update: Freeman has a foot sprain and will undergo an MRI, per Ian Rapoport.)

Brian Hill was the lead back with Freeman out of the game, and Hill scored a touchdown in the receiving game while also rushing 20 times for 61 yards. As of right now, Hill is one of the top options on the Week 11 waiver wire thanks to a highly favorable matchup against the Panthers.

Ty Johnson concussion update

Johnson left Sunday's game with a concussion. The Lions' RB workload was split from that point on by J.D. McKissic and Paul Perkins, although McKissic had more carries and saw more action in the passing game.

If Johnson is forced to miss time, McKissic is the better target in all leagues and almost certainly worth a pickup in PPR formats. At this point, it would be weird to not see Detroit bring in another veteran RB, too.
