Fantasy Injury Updates: Latest news on James Robinson, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Miles Sanders, more RBs affecting Week 11 start 'em, sit 'em calls image

Running back has been a problem for fantasy football owners in Week 11, with guys like Aaron Jones and Alvin Kamara already ruled out and Elijah Mitchell "doubtful." Heading into Sunday, a couple players on IR, Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Miles Sanders, figure to be playing, but "questionable" RBs James Robinson, Latavius Murray, and Jamaal Williams look like game-time decisions. All the while, start 'em, sit 'em decisions hang in the balance, and fantasy owners will be frantically checking for the latest injury updates, which we'll provide below.

WEEK 11 FANTASY: Sleepers | Busts | Start 'em, sit 'em

Is James Robinson playing Week 11?

UPDATE: ESPN's Adam Schefter reported late Saturday night that Robinson is expected to play against San Francisco.

UPDATE 2: Robinson is officially ACTIVE.

Robinson (knee, heel) got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday, and Jaguars coach Urban Meyer said the second-year back is feeling "pretty good" ahead of Sunday's game against the 49ers.

It seems likely Robinson will suit up, and if he does, we can assume he'll handle the vast majority of Jacksonville's carries. It's a below-average matchup, but Robinson does enough as a receiver that he's still a must-start in all formats. If Robinson is out, Carlos Hyde will handle almost all of the Jaguars' RB touches and be worth a flex spot.

Is Miles Sanders playing Week 11?

UPDATE: Sanders is officially ACTIVE.

Sanders (ankle) was activated from the IR on Saturday afternoon and is fully expected to start on Sunday against the Saints.

Prior to his injury, Sanders was having a disappointing season, partly because he was was averaging just 12.5 touches through six full games. Since his injury, Philadelphia has become a run-dominant team, so there's hope for an uptick in production. Of course, Jordan Howard doesn't figure to simply go away, especially around the goal line, so for now, we'll consider Sanders the nominal leader of a committee. Against New Orleans' league-leading run defense, he's merely a low-floor flex. Howard also gets that distinction in standard leagues.

Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

Is Clyde Edwards-Helaire playing Week 11?

Edwards-Helaire (knee) hasn't played since Week 5, but after being activated from the IR on Saturday afternoon, he's expected to suit up against the Cowboys in Week 11.

CEH had been playing well prior to his injury, rushing for 100 yards and scoring in back-to-back games. Darrel Williams has excelled in his absence, though, and with a bye looming in Week 12, it seems likely these two will split backfield duties. We give Edwards-Helaire the slight edge in value, but both are merely flexes in this slightly favorable matchup.

Is Latavius Murray playing Week 11?

UPDATE: NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Sunday morning that Murray is expected to play against Chicago.

UPDATE 2: Murray is officially ACTIVE.

Murray (ankle) hasn't played since Week 6, but after getting in a week's worth of limited practices -- and the release of Le'Veon Bell -- Murray is trending toward suiting up against the Bears.

However, we don't know what Murray's role will be. He was serving as the de facto starter and goal-line back prior to his injury, but in his absence, Devonta Freeman has led the backfield and played well as both a runner and receiver. Chances are, this will be close to an even split, and whoever gets the goal-line snaps will have more value. We give a slight nod to Freeman for at least this week, but both backs can be used as low-floor, medium-ceiling flexes.

Is Jamaal Williams playing Week 11?

UPDATE: NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Sunday morning that Williams is expected to play against Cleveland.

UPDATE 2: Williams is officially ACTIVE.

Williams (thigh) has been on the injury report most of the season, but after a week's worth of limited practices, he's on pace for his first game since Week 7.

With an average of almost 12.5 touches per game, Williams usually has flex value in most matchups. However, with all the variables heading into this week's game, including the tough matchup, unknown role, and the fact Tim Boyle is starting at quarterback, Williams shouldn't be considered for fantasy lineups. His presence won't help D'Andre Swift, but the stud second-year back remains a must-start in all formats.
