Fantasy Injury Updates: Latest news on Josh Jacobs, Gus Edwards impacting Week 12 start 'em, sit 'em decisions image

With Sunday's kickoffs on the horizon, fantasy football owners are doing their last-minute checks of the Week 12 injury report and making their final start 'em, sit 'em decisions. Key RBs Raheem Mostert (knee) and Leonard Fournette (hip) are both listed as "doubtful" and Joe Mixon (concussion) has been ruled "out," but of even more concern for fantasy owners at this point is the "questionable" statuses of Josh Jacobs and Gus Edwards.

Below, we'll give you the latest news on these running backs and break down how their injuries could potentially affect the Week 12 fantasy landscape.

Is Josh Jacobs playing Week 12?

UPDATE: ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Sunday morning that Jacobs is likely to play "barring any setbacks" in pre-game warmups.

UPDATE 2: Jacobs is officially ACTIVE.

Jacobs (calf) was surprisingly listed as "questionable" ahead of the Raiders' Week 12 road contest against the Seahawks. The veteran running back practiced in a limited fashion on Friday before being added to the team's injury report with the "questionable" tag, and it looks like he's truly going to be a game-time decision.

if Jacobs is out, Ameer Abdullah would likely draw the start and see the bulk of the RB touches for Vegas, but Brandon Bolden and Zamir White could also be involved. It's a tough situation to handicap, as there hasn't been a clear-cut "handcuff" most of the season, but in a favorable matchup, Abdullah should have at least flex value.

With Jacobs not playing until 4:05 p.m. ET, owners won't know if he's officially active until after the early games start. It's best to have him in your flex as opposed to RB so you can replace him with WR or TE if you have to. If need to leave him at RB, the best widely available "streamer" options are Rams RBs Cam Akers and Kyren Williams (@ KC) and Jerick McKinnon (vs. LA).

Is Gus Edwards playing Week 12?

UPDATE: NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Sunday morning that Edwards is expected to play against Jacksonville.

UPDATE 2: Edwards is officially ACTIVE.

Edwards (hamstring/knee) was officially listed as "questionable" ahead of Sunday's game against the Jaguars. After practicing in limited fashion on Wednesday, the veteran running back practiced in full on Thursday and Friday, which is a good sign heading into Sunday's kickoff.

WEEK 12 STANDARD RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers

The veteran running back has missed the past two games due to hamstring and knee injuries. There was a belief that Edwards could've played last week against the Panthers after practicing in full. However, the Ravens ultimately made him inactive. If Edwards can play on Sunday afternoon, he has a decent matchup against a middle-of-the-pack Jaguars' run defense, but Edwards should get enough volume to pay off as an RB2/flex. If Edwards is out again, Kenyan Drake will be back in the RB1 spot for the Ravens and should be viewed as a low-end flex this week.
