Fantasy Injury Updates: Latest news on JK Dobbins, Deon Jackson impacting Week 7 waiver wire pickups image

After a wild Sunday in the NFL, fantasy football owners are doing their Monday morning debriefings to see which players got injured and how that will affect their respective fantasy teams going forward. Fortunately, it was a quiet week for new injuries, but running backs JK Dobbins and Deon Jackson both exited early because of lower body injuries, which could potentially force owners to hit the waiver wire for running back depth that is already scarce heading into Week 7.

Below, we'll give you the latest news on these RBs and break down how their injuries could potentially affect the Week 7 fantasy landscape. JK Dobbins injury update, Week 7 fantasy outlook

Dobbins did not play in the second half against the Giants Sunday after his surgically repaired knee "tightened up," according to head coach John Harbaugh. Harbaugh also added that the turf at MetLife Stadium could've played a part in Dobbins' knee issues. This is not ideal news for Dobbins, who only had 15 yards on seven carries in his fourth game back from a torn ACL. However, the good news for Baltimore is they will be home next week against the Browns and their field has not given the young running back any issues.

Without Dobbins on Sunday, the Ravens had to lean on Kenyan Drake, who turned in one of his best performances of the season. The veteran running back produced a game-high 119 yards on 10 carries and a touchdown. In his previous three games, the 28-year-old Drake only had 65 yards on 21 carries. If Dobbins is out or limited in Week 7, Drake could become a solid RB2 in a favorable matchup against a Browns defense allowing the fourth-most fantasy points per game to RBs.

Fantasy owners will also need to monitor the injury updates on Justice Hill (hamstring), who had jumped Drake on the depth chart before sitting out the past two games, and Gus Edwards (knee), who has yet to play this season but is nearing a return. Any of these backs could be worth picking up if Dobbins is out.

Deon Jackson injury update, Week 7 fantasy outlook

Jackson was having a career day before suffering a quad injury in the second half against the Jaguars. The severity of the injury is unknown, but Jackson was unable to return to action.

The 23-year-old backup had 121 yards and a touchdown on 21 touches before exiting. That's on the heels of a 17-touch, 91-yard outing in Week 5. Jonathan Taylor (ankle) will certainly be ahead of him on the depth chart when healthy, but Jackson might have done enough to overtake Nyheim Hines (concussion) as Taylor's primary backup. With all three backs up in the air ahead of a matchup against Tennessee, Jackson is still worth grabbing off waivers. If Taylor, Hines, and Jackson are all trending toward being out in Week 7, then Phillip Lindsay would shoulder the load for Indy and be worth a flex spot.
