Fantasy Injury Updates: Davante Adams, Tyreek Hill, DeSean Jackson shake up Week 6 WR rankings image

Davante Adams and Tyreek Hill are two of the 10 best wide receivers in the NFL, and fantasy owners are hoping they'll be back sooner rather than later from their multi-week injuries. Both could be back as soon as Sunday, but chances are they'll both be "questionable" all week. The WR rankings have further uncertainty with DeSean Jackson's potential return still being a little blurry and Sterling Shepard sustaining his second concussion of the season and likely to miss Thursday Night Football.

Davante Adams injury update

Adams is "week-to-week" with a turf toe injury he sustained during Week 4's Thursday Night Football. It's the type of injury that historically lingers for wideouts. Adams' status for practices later in this week could determine his availability for Week 6, which will be helped by the Packers not playing until Monday night.

Adams' fantasy owners will be putting themselves in a bind by waiting until Monday to know his status, so hopefully this clears up earlier in the week. In Adams' absence, Marquez Valdes-Scantling became Green Bay's new No. 1, Geronimo Allison maintained his slot role, and Jake Kumerow got the majority of the snaps opposite MVS. Aaron Jones ran for four touchdowns as Aaron Rodgers threw for fewer than 200 yards.

Will Tyreek Hill play Week 6?

When Hill warmed up ahead of Week 4's Chiefs' game, it appeared his return was imminent. He didn't play in Week 5, but now with a potential Sammy Watkins injury, Hill's return looms even larger heading into KC's Week 6 hosting of Houston. Hill practiced in a limited fashion last week, and Ian Rapoport reported there's a "realistic" chance Hill will play Week 6.

Hill should be plugged back into every fantasy lineup if he's active. If both he and Watkins are out, Byron Pringle becomes a high-risk, high-reward FLEX play as the Chiefs' second-most snapped WR in Week 5. Demarcus Robinson and Mecole Hardman also continue to be playable if Hill is out, but both are at risk of becoming fantasy afterthoughts when Hill and Watkins are both healthy.

When will DeSean Jackson be back?

Doug Pederson told reporters Monday that Jackson is still rehabbing his abdominal injury but is "getting close" to returning. Jackson won't require surgery, Pederson added. Jackson hasn't played since leaving early in Philly's Week 2 game.

With Jackson out, Nelson Agholor was supposed to be the receiver who stepped up, but that only happened in Weeks 2 and 3 when Alshon Jeffery was also out. In the past two games combined, he has just one catch. The Eagles have also relied on more two-TE sets without Jackson, meaning Dallas Goedert's time as a nearly every-play fixture could soon be coming to an end, but either way, the only receiver in this offense you can really count on until Jackson gets back is Jeffery.

Sterling Shepard concussion update

Shepard went into concussion protocol after Sunday's game, his second concussion this season. SNY is reporting that Shepard is expected to miss Thursday night's game in New England, which makes sense, as the turnaround would be almost unheard of for clearing protocol.

WEEK 6 DFS LINEUPS:

With Evan Engram iffy for Thursday night, too, Golden Tate becomes mightily important in his second game back from suspension. He didn't do much on his six targets in Week 5. Darius Slayton, who led Giants' wideouts with 52 receiving yards in Week 5, also is in play, but the Patriots' strong defense makes him desperation or a DraftKings Showdown play more than anything else.
