Fantasy Football WR PPR Rankings Week 4: Who to start, best sleepers at wide receiver image

As we enter Week 4, we're getting a clearer picture of what constitutes a good or bad matchup for wide receivers. Even more important, we're starting to get a better idea of which wideouts will get consistent target shares. Our Week 4 fantasy WR PPR fantasy rankings help pinpoint those WRs in the best situations to thrive, boosting your odds of outscoring your opponent this week.

Right now, any half-way decent WR facing the league's poorest pass defenses, like the Chargers, Raiders, Colts, and Bears, are essentially "must-starts." Conversely, it might be wise to avoid most WRs facing the league's toughest pass defenses, like the 49ers, Browns, Chiefs, and Cowboys (although Dallas allowed plenty of yards in Week 3).

Good/bad matchups will continue to define themselves over the next several weeks, but all we can go off is what we've seen so far, so let's break down our latest set of WR rankings.

Who are the best fantasy WRs Week 4?

Last season's receiving leader and consensus fantasy WR1, Justin Jefferson (@ Panthers), has lived up to the hype, most recently popping off for seven catches, 149 yards, and a score in Sunday's shootout against the Chargers.

WEEK 4 STANDARD RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers

Tyreek Hill (@ Bills) makes a resounding claim for the top spot in our Week 4 WR PPR rankings after his nine-catch, 157-yard, one-TD effort in the Dolphins 70-20 shellacking of the Broncos. Unfortunately, Hill doesn't face a Swiss-cheese defense in Week 4, as a divisional test against the Bills could result in a fantasy showing similar to his Week 2 output against the Patriots.

Stefon Diggs (vs. Dolphins) didn't reach paydirt in Week 3 but still posted 20-plus PPR points in an eight-catch, 111-yard display versus the Commanders. Davante Adams (@ Chargers) could continue to thrive against a porous Chargers' secondary. Ditto for A.J. Brown (vs. Commanders), who rounds out our top five.

Who are the best fantasy WR sleepers, waiver pickups Week 4?

This week's crop of PPR sleepers and waiver wire adds include Tank Dell (vs. Steelers), Adam Thielen (vs. Vikings), Joshua Palmer (vs. Raiders), Marvin Mims (@ Bears), Josh Downs (vs. Rams), and K.J. Osborn (@ Panthers).

Dell's fresh off of setting the Texans rookie record for receiving yards in a single game (145 yards) and will see his ownership rate rise exponentially. Thielen's about the only Panthers WR who can consistently create separation, and his high target share makes him a prime sleeper against his former team. Palmer's a formidable injury fill-in for fellow Charger Mike Williams (knee) and could feast against an underwhelming Raiders' secondary.

Mims and Downs are two other underrated rookies logging a high snap share for their squads, warranting pickups ahead of Week 4, though both should only be considered as flexes in deep leagues. Mims is better suited for standard leagues thanks to his big-play ability, while Downs is more a PPR threat. Osborn may seem like an ancillary piece in the Vikings' offense, but there's enough volume for him to warrant flex appeal in favorable matchups.

WEEK 4 FANTASY: Sleepers | Busts | Start 'em, sit 'em

Who are the biggest potential WR busts Week 4?

Garrett Wilson (vs. Chiefs), Marquise Brown (@ 49ers), Elijah Moore (vs. Ravens), and Romeo Doubs (vs. Lions) have dropped a bit due to tough Week 4 matchups, potentially resulting in "bust" performances. There's only so much Garrett Wilson can do running routes for Zach Wilson, but a matchup against sound Chiefs secondary doesn't exude much confidence in his Week 4 fantasy outlook.

We'll be surprised if Brown replicates his Week 3 effort against the 49ers, as he's probably on the wrong side of the start/sit bubble. The same goes for Moore and Doubs, as both wideouts look more like sits than starts. Of course, each fantasy owner is in a completely different situation, but if you have a wideout with a seemingly better matchup, it's wise to roll with him instead.

What are the biggest WR injuries Week 4?

Leading into Week 3, Jaylen Waddle (concussion), Brandon Aiyuk (shoulder), Odell Beckham Jr. (ankle), Christian Watson (hamstring), and Zay Jones (knee) didn't suit up with nagging injuries. In our initial set of Week 4 rankings, we have Waddle, Aiyuk, and Watson included but not Beckham Jr. and Jones.

As for in-game injuries sustained in Week 3, we saw Mike Williams (knee), Rashod Bateman (hamstring), and Jonathan Mingo (head) exit their respective contests, complicating their statuses for Week 4. Should Williams, Bateman, and Mingo miss Week 4, look for Joshua Palmer and Quentin Johnston (vs. Raiders), Nelson Agholor (@ Browns), and Thielen and DJ Chark (vs. Vikings) to fill their voids.

We'll be updating these WR PPR rankings throughout the week, so check back for the latest player movement and analysis.
