With all 32 teams in action for a loaded Week 8 slate, fantasy football owners find themselves grappling with a multitude of start 'em, sit 'em questions. The increased number of players suiting up this week has led to a surge in lineup debates and created tough decisions. Thankfully, our Week 8 sleeper list can help ease your start-sit concerns, as guys like Chuba Hubbard, Devin Singletary, Josh Downs, and Taysom Hill stand out as underrated options.
We always stress that any of our sleeper picks could disappoint in Week 8. We like to take some chances with our sleeper picks because recommending a bunch of "must-starts" simply isn't needed. You shouldn't start our sleeper picks over proven, early-round studs, but if your roster is already loaded with stars, then you don't need our advice anyway. If nothing else, our sleeper picks can help you find DFS values, as the prices of these players should be affordable.
Hopefully, our Week 7 sleeper picks helped you earn a "W," as we correctly predicted strong fantasy performances from D'Onta Foreman, Rashee Rice, Javonte Williams, David Njoku, Josh Dobbs, and Jauan Jennings. We're striving for an even higher success rate this week.

WEEK 8 FANTASY ADVICE: Busts | Projections | Start 'em, sit 'em
Fantasy RB Sleepers Week 8
Gus Edwards, Ravens @ Cardinals (Sloan Piva). The Gus bus should be rolling this weekend against Arizona, a defense that has allowed the fourth-most fantasy points per game (FPPG) to RBs this season. Over the past two weeks, Kyren Williams and Kenneth Walker III combined for 269 all-purpose yards against Arizona. Justice Hill only had five touches for Baltimore last week, so don't worry too much about competition.
Chuba Hubbard, Panthers vs. Texans (Vinnie Iyer). Hubbard should lead the committee even if Miles Sanders (shoulder) comes back, and Houston has shown enough weaknesses vs. the run to be exploited. Carolina needs to run well to get its first win, and Hubbard has looked great every chance he’s gotten. It continues here.
Devin Singletary, Texans @ Panthers (Matt Lutovsky). It’s easy to forget that Singletary led the Texans in rushing and had just one fewer carry than Dameon Pierce in Week 6 before Houston’s bye. It’s unclear how the Texans will deploy their backs, but even just 10 touches can yield flex value against a Panthers’ defense allowing the second-most fantasy points per game (FPPG) to RBs (31.5 in half-PPR leagues).
WEEK 8 STANDARD RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers
Fantasy QB Sleepers Week 8
C.J. Stroud, Texans @ Panthers (Piva). Over the past five games, Stroud has averaged 24.7 FPPG. Carolina has surrendered 66.9 fantasy points to QBs over its past two games, so Stroud should be sharp with an extra week to prepare.
Mac Jones, Patriots at Dolphins (Iyer). It’s time to uncork McCorkle, as the entire Patriots offense has revived with wide receivers and tight ends helping a diversified passing game. He should need to chuck often against Tua Tagovailoa in trail mode.
Kenny Pickett, Steelers vs. Jaguars (Lutovsky). Pickett looked better with Diontae Johnson back in the lineup last week, and even though it didn’t result in big fantasy numbers, we expect a correction this week against a Jacksonville defense allowing the sixth-most FPPG to QBs. They just allowed Derek Carr to throw for over 300 yards against them, and Pickett can do the same.
WEEK 8 PPR RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers
Fantasy WR Sleepers Week 8
Rashee Rice, Chiefs @ Broncos (Piva). How is this guy only 58 percent rostered? I haven't seen Rice cooking like this since I worked at an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant. The explosive rookie has averaged 13.8 PPR points per game over the past three weeks, and now he and Patrick Mahomes can inflict some damage on the Broncos' woeful defense.
Romeo Doubs, Packers vs. Vikings (Iyer). He’s been quiet of late, but he did score last week. Christian Watson (knee) is banged up again, and Doubs did really well in this matchup last season as a rookie.
Josh Downs, Colts vs. Saints (Lutovsky). Downs has caught 16-of-20 targets for 243 yards and two TDs over the past three games. Even against a tough Saints’ pass defense, he has upside. Christian Kirk just went off for 90 yards and a TD against New Orleans, and Downs plays a similar role in the Colts’ offense.
WEEK 8 DFS: DK lineup | FD lineup | Best values | Best stacks
Fantasy TE Sleepers Week 8
Taysom Hill, Saints @ Colts (Piva). Hill has quietly caught 11-of-13 targets for 99 yards over the past two weeks, and he's added six carries for 20 yards and a TD. New Orleans will likely continue using Hill as a short-yardage and goal-line weapon. Get some Taysom in your life if you need a TE fix. If Hill (chest) is out, pivot to Juwan Johnson, who can also take advantage of this favorable matchup.
Jake Ferguson, Cowboys vs. Rams (Iyer). LA can give it up to the tight end with shaky coverage, and Ferguson can put together a fine day at home with Dak Prescott throwing more. Ferguson has a good chance to score in the red zone.
Michael Mayer, Raiders @ Lions (Lutovsky). Mayer took a step back last week, but that was with Brian Hoyer at QB. That almost certainly won't be the case on Monday night. The Lions allow the third-most FPPG to TEs, so expect a strong showing from Mayer.
Fantasy Defense Sleepers Week 8
Houston Texans @ Panthers (Piva). DeMeco Ryans has Houston playing D again, and yet this D/ST is available in 96 percent of fantasy leagues. Don't sleep. Over the Texans' past four games, they have allowed just 14.3 points per game while racking up a total of five sacks, four interceptions, and four fumble recoveries.
Tennessee Titans vs. Falcons (Iyer). Mike Vrabel will outreach Arthur Smith in a battle of attrition after his defense shuts down the run and forces sacks and takeaways vs. Desmond Ridder.
Los Angeles Chargers vs. Bears (Lutovsky). Tyson Bagent passed his first test as a starter, impressing at home against the Raiders. His task gets tougher on the road in prime time against a Chargers’ defense ranked eighth in sacks. Expect several QB takedowns and a few big turnovers.
