Fantasy Football Lineup Advice Week 8: Ace your start-or-sit decisions with RotoBaller's "Who to Start?" tool image

We're past the midweek point of the fantasy football regular season, and the NFL decided to throw fantasy owners a bone by scheduling zero byes. That doesn't mean start 'em, sit 'em decisions are getting any easier, though. Fortunately, the experts at RotoBaller are here to help by giving Sporting News Fantasy readers free access to their exclusive “Who to Start?” advice tool to help with your Week 8 fantasy lineup decisions.

How does the “Who to Start?” tool work? Simple: Choose up to four players to compare below, pick your league settings in the upper right corner (PPR, half-PPR, standard), and push “Who to Start?” It’s that easy. From there, you’ll get a lineup recommendation based on RotoBaller’s award-winning rankings and projections.

There are still plenty of notable injuries, but with no teams on bye, most fantasy owners have no excuse for fielding a lackluster lineup this week. In fact, some might be overloaded with decent options, making start 'em, sit 'em decisions as tough as they've been all season.

As always, RotoBaller factored in usage, matchups, and talent into its Week 8 rankings, and it’s reflected in its “Who to Start?” tool. Check out an example from each offensive position.

Advice below is based on full-point PPR leagues

Start or Sit?: Week 8 fantasy QB lineup advice from RotoBaller

C.J. Stroud (@ CAR) vs. Jordan Love (vs. MIN) vs. Trevor Lawrence (@ PIT) vs. Dak Prescott (vs. LAR)

RotoBaller has Stroud, Lawrence, and Prescott (in that order) clumped very closely together. Love is a few spots back despite having the best statistical matchup. Ultimately, any of these four could pay off as a starter, but Stroud has shown the highest ceiling and been the most consistent since a bumpy opening game. Sounds crazy to say, but it's the truth.

Start or Sit?: Week 8 fantasy RB lineup advice from RotoBaller

Javonte Williams (vs. KC) vs. Najee Harris (vs. JAX) vs. Kareem Hunt (@ SEA) vs. Zack Moss (vs. NO)

Fantasy owners seem out on Harris, consistently ranking him below Jaylen Warren despite the latter receiving far fewer touches every week. Everyone also seems to be predicting the clock striking midnight on Moss this week despite a hefty workload again last time out. That leaves Williams and Hunt, the latter of which will see more touches with Jerome Ford (ankle) likely out. RotoBaller is sticking with Williams, though, as he's finally starting to look like his pre-injury self. This could be the week he puts it all back together and gets his first TD of the season, so don't be shy about starting him.

Start or Sit?: Week 8 fantasy WR lineup advice from RotoBaller

Nico Collins (@ CAR) vs. Calvin Ridley (@ PIT) vs. Diontae Johnson (vs. JAX) vs. Josh Palmer (vs. CHI)

Despite Ridley and Johnson having bigger names and Palmer being on a flashier offense, Collins is well ahead of the other three in RotoBaller's WR rankings. He's shown the highest ceiling this year and gets the most consistent targets, so in a favorable matchup, it makes sense. All four of these receivers are worth starting in 12-team leagues this week, so you really can't go wrong with any. RotoBaller likes Ridley, Johnson, and Palmer next, in that order.

WEEK 8 STANDARD RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers

Start or Sit?: Week 8 fantasy TE lineup advice from RotoBaller

Hunter Henry (@ MIA) vs. Kyle Pitts (@ TEN) vs. Taysom Hill (@ IND) vs. Jake Ferguson (vs. LAR)

Rotoballer is pretty much out on Henry despite the favorable matchup, and they're still hesitant on Hill in full PPR despite the recent uptick in targets. Juwan Johnson's potential return from a calf injury creates some uncertainty for Hill, so that's probably why he's several spots behind Pitts, who's one spot behind Ferguson. Ultimately, it comes down to matchups, and Ferguson has the best of the bunch. His targets have been down recently, so his ceiling isn't as high as Pitts' or even Hill's, but he should have a high floor.
