Fantasy Football Lineup Advice Week 13: Ace your start-or-sit decisions with RotoBaller's "Who to Start?" tool image

We're getting close to "win-or-go-home" time for most fantasy football owners, so every lineup decision takes on extra importance. Fortunately, the experts at RotoBaller are here to help your lineups by giving Sporting News Fantasy readers free access to their exclusive “Who to Start?” advice tool to help with your Week 13 fantasy start 'em, sit 'em decisions.

How does the “Who to Start?” tool work? Simple: Choose up to four players to compare below, pick your league settings in the upper right corner (PPR, half-PPR, standard), and push “Who to Start?” It’s that easy. From there, you’ll get a lineup recommendation based on RotoBaller’s award-winning rankings and projections.

There are at least three "must-start" QBs on bye (Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Justin Fields), a slew of stud RBs and WRs (Josh Jacobs, Saquon Barkley, Stefon Diggs, Davante Adams), and several regular TEs (T.J. Hockenson, Dalton Kincaid). That's on top of injured studs like Justin Jefferson, Darren Waller, and Mark Andrews who have already been M.I.A. for multiple weeks.

As always, RotoBaller factored in usage, matchups, and talent into its Week 13 rankings, and it’s reflected in its “Who to Start?” tool. Check out an example from each offensive position.

Advice below is based on full-point PPR leagues

Start or Sit?: Week 13 fantasy QB lineup advice from RotoBaller

Russell Wilson (@ HOU) vs. Matthew Stafford (vs. CLE) vs. Jordan Love (vs. KC) vs. Sam Howell (vs. MIA)

Stafford is coming off a huge game, but he's still a distant fourth in RotoBaller's rankings of these four signal-callers. Sam Howell gets the nod by one spot over Wilson and two spots over Love, likely because of the potential shootout/garbage-time situation he could find himself in. Wilson is in a similar boat, but he doesn't throw quite as often as Howell, so RotoBaller clearly thinks he'll produce by default.

Start or Sit?: Week 13 fantasy RB lineup advice from RotoBaller

Dameon Pierce (vs. DEN) vs. Kareem Hunt (@ LAR) vs. Chuba Hubbard (@ TB) vs. Ezekiel Elliott (vs. LAC)

All of these backs split touches, but RotoBaller likes Hunt the best, likely because he gets frequent goal-line opportunities. Pierce and Elliott both have great matchups, so they're only a few spots back, and Hubbard is also in the mix in the tightly bunched quartet thanks to his steady touches. This is pretty much a flip-a-coin group of backs, as any could score and/or give you 70-plus total yards this week, but there's no doubt that Hunt has been the best goal-line option among these four.

WEEK 13 PPR RANKINGS:

Start or Sit?: Week 13 fantasy WR lineup advice from RotoBaller

Josh Downs (@ TEN) vs. Drake London (@ NYJ) vs. Jayden Reed (vs. KC) vs. Curtis Samuel (vs. MIA)

Reed has been producing the most lately, but Downs is the best bet for targets. London is the biggest name, and Samuel is playing in a potential shootout for a pass-happy team. You can make a case for any of these receivers this week, but RotoBaller is trusting the targets and going with Downs. Reed is a few spots back, followed by London and Samuel just a few spots behind him. Downs also has the best matchup, so it looks like he's a safe WR2 this week.

WEEK 13 STANDARD RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers

Start or Sit?: Week 13 fantasy TE lineup advice from RotoBaller

Tyler Conklin (vs. ATL) vs. Juwan Johnson (vs. DET) vs. Pat Freiermuth (vs. ARI) vs. Logan Thomas (vs. MIA)

Conklin has the best matchup, Johnson might be in line for the most targets, and Thomas is probably the steadiest. RotoBaller likes Freiermuth the most, though, likely because of his name value and the monster game he had in Week 12. Arizona had been solid against TEs this year, but it just allowed two TDs to Tyler Higbee, so Freiermuth has much more upside than it seemed like he would have even two weeks ago.
