FanDuel Picks Week 12: NFL DFS lineup advice for GPP tournaments image

Week 12 is upon us, and with it, some of the best offensive players are unavailable for the NFL DFS main slate. With the Falcons and Saints squaring off on Thanksgiving and the Rams and Chiefs both on bye, some of the top offensive teams in the league will be out of action. That said, we'll be looking to identify some of the better matchup-based sleepers who could help us win. Our FanDuel GPP lineup is going to target games like the Bengals-Browns, Chargers-Cardinals, and 49ers-Bucs to ensure that we get exposure to some of the bad defenses. That strategy, coupled with our choice to spend up at RB, should allow this lineup to succeed.

Our lineup has one stack at QB-WR, and it involves the Ravens. Our lineup in general is fairly Ravens heavy, as three of our nine positions are filled by players from Baltimore. Elsewhere, we're looking to exploit some of the better matchups on the slate and target younger, high-ceiling players that could really boom in Week 12. That will help us differentiate our lineup a bit more while also potentially setting ourselves up for a massive games from our lower-owned talent.

Week 12 FanDuel Picks: NFL DFS tournament lineup

QB Lamar Jackson, Ravens vs. Raiders ($7,400). I just want a high-floor, high-ceiling QB. Is that so much to ask? It apparently was last week after I ended up going with Carson Wentz as my starter. I won't be making the same mistake again. Jackson is a bargain at his $7,400 price tag in a matchup against the Raiders. The Raiders have allowed the second-most passing TDs in the league, and Jackson did a ton of damage on the ground in his starting debut. He only had 16.7 FanDuel points, but he did that without scoring a TD. If he can post over 100 rushing yards again, he should pay off big time.

THANKSGIVING DFS LINEUPS: FanDuel | DraftKings

RB Melvin Gordon, Chargers vs. Cardinals ($8,900). The Cardinals have allowed the fourth-most FanDuel points to RBs this season at a clip of 27.2 per game. Gordon has posted at least 15.4 FanDuel points in every game he's played so far this season. This is an excellent matchup for Gordon, and we're willing to pay up for him as he could be the most productive RB on the slate.

RB Nick Chubb, Browns @ Bengals ($7,500). Since taking over as the Browns starter, Chubb has played three of the league's bottom-five run defenses. In those games, he has posted 14, 15.5, and 34.4 FanDuel points respectively. The Bengals rank dead last against the run in FanDuel scoring, so he could have another big outing against them. He's just the seventh-most expensive RB available, so that's a relatively bargain for a potential high-ceiling play.

WEEK 12 DFS CASH LINEUPS: YahooFanDuelDraftKings

WR Mike Evans, Buccaneers vs. 49ers ($7,900). I wanted some exposure to the Bucs-49ers game, as I anticipate that both defenses may fold in this contest. The Bucs throw the ball a lot, and Evans is averaging 9.1 targets per game. He should have a boatload of opportunities to beat the 49ers deep, and considering that he just tore up the Giants for 120 yards and a TD, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him go off in consecutive weeks -- especially at home. And if O.J. Howard has to miss time with an ankle injury, that could make Evans the true No. 1 red-zone target once again.

WR D.J. Moore, Panthers vs. Seahawks ($5,800). This might feel like we're chasing points, but at the same time, it also feels like Moore has turned the corner. He saw a season-high eight targets and turned them into seven catches, 157 yards, and a TD last week against the Lions. The Seahawks have a better defense than Detroit, but look for the Panthers to keep funneling touches to Moore. He's obviously their most explosive receiver, and all it will take is one big play for his to pay off this sub-$6K price.

WEEK 12 DFS GPP LINEUPS: Yahoo | DraftKings

WR Willie Snead, Ravens vs. Raiders ($5,300). This is my obligatory stack pick to go along with Lamar Jackson. I almost didn't target a stack this time around, but the value on Snead was solid and allowed me to spend up at other positions. In Jackson's first start, Snead saw eight targets, more than double any other Ravens offensive player, catching five for 51 yards. If he can continue to see that type of volume, he will be a solid producer, and if he can catch his first TD since Week 1, that will make him even more valuable.

TE Jeff Heuerman, Broncos vs. Steelers ($5,400). I got burned by spending up for Zach Ertz at TE last week, so I'm trying to avoid repeating the same mistake. Heuerman has seen 16 targets in two games without Demaryius Thomas, and the Steelers are tied for eighth-most FanDuel points allowed to TEs this season. As the 11th-highest-priced TE on the slate, that makes Heuerman a relative bargain. So, we'll take a chance on him and hope that he can help differentiate our tournament lineup a bit.

MORE WEEK 12 DFS: Values | StacksLineup Builder

FLEX Josh Gordon, Patriots @ Jets ($6,800). In the Patriots' two games before the bye, Gordon saw 22 targets and turned them into nine catches, 211 yards, and a TD. He has a solid matchup with the Jets, who have given up the eighth-most FanDuel points to WRs this season. Gordon could have a massive outing if he continues to see that type of target share.

DEF Baltimore Ravens vs. Raiders ($5,000). I'm going Ravens-heavy in this lineup because the home matchup with the Raiders is simply too good to pass up. The Ravens defense hasn't scored more than three points in the past four weeks, but against the hapless Raiders, they should have a great chance to bounce back after a disappointing effort against the Bengals. We're comfortable targeting them either way, as the lower-budget defenses aren't much better than the Ravens.
