Eagles vs. Packers: Who to start/sit in fantasy for 'Thursday Night Football' image

'Thursday Night Football' can either make or break your fantasy football results for a given week in your seasonal leagues. There's also a lot on the line when it comes Showdown DFS contests on DraftKings, and start 'em, sit 'em decisions are always magnified.

Tonight's game between the Eagles and the Packers in Lambeau Field (8:20 p.m. ET, FOX, NFL Network and Amazon Prime Video) offers more fantasy intrigue than usual for a midweek game with several viable offensive skills players on both sides.

Here's breakdown of who to start and sit from the Philadelphia-Green Bay matchup.

Eagles: Who to start or sit in fantasy football on Thursday night

Start: QB Carson Wentz

The numbers say the Packers' pass defense is tough, and it is, with an improved pass rush and secondary. But he's your regular guy when healthy in most standard-sized league and has delivered multiple combined scores in 19 of his past 23 starts. He also should keep up the high volume in either catch-up or keep-up mode with Aaron Rodgers.

Start: TE Zach Ertz

Ertz has yet to find the end zone, and his usual high catch rate is down with only 17 catches on 30 targets. But look for the Eagles try to get him deep down the seam a few times as that element is missing on the perimeter with WR DeSean Jackson (abdomen) missing another game.

Start: WR Alshon Jeffery

With no Jackson, Jeffery will have a tough matchup at times against CB Jaire Alexander, but when he's on the field, the Eagles get him the ball in different ways, and he's always a threat for a short score. The Packers had some trouble with Allen Robinson and Courtland Sutton because of size and body positioning, and Jeffery is a receiver of that ilk.

WEEK 4 NON-PPR RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

Sit: WR Nelson Agholor, WR Mack Hollins

The Packers have been very good at covering the slot early, so that's tricky for Agholor, and it's hard to extend any lineup consideration to Hollins or rookie WR J.J. Arcega-Whiteside with Jeffery back in the lineup.

Start: RB Miles Sanders

The Eagles plan to keep giving the rookie a good chunk of the backfield workload despite two fumbles last week because they know they need his dynamic skill set to wake up their running game. He saw just 26 snaps against the Lions, but he touched the ball on 15 of them for 126 scrimmage yards. The Packers had trouble with the running style of Philip Lindsay, and Sanders can channel that well with more decent volume in store.

Sit: RB Jordan Howard

With 28 touches in three games and 26 percent of the offensive snap count, he's a highly touchdown-dependent FLEX option.

Sit: Eagles D/ST

Their pass rush and secondary isn't suddenly going to step up and rack up key plays against Rodgers, who wasn't sacked against Denver and rarely throws home interceptions.

WEEK 4 PPR RANKINGS: Running back | Wide receiverTight end

Packers: Who to start or sit in fantasy football on Thursday night

Start: QB Aaron Rodgers

It's been a perfect storm against his production in the first three games. The limited opposing offenses have scored fewer than 17 points in every game, and Rodgers also has faced three difficult defenses in the Bears, Vikings and Broncos. The Eagles can score well more than that and give up plenty to passing games. RB Aaron Jones also has scored three times inside the 10, so the TDs there are bound to tilt back to Rodgers.

Start: WR Davante Adams

You drafted Adams as an elite WR1 for the high volume of targets and catches and the automatic double-digit TDs. Those haven't come yet for Rodgers' go-to guy, but that changes here against a bad secondary and a team he's torched in the past.

Sit: RB Aaron Jones, RB Jamaal Williams

The Eagles have been stingy against running backs. Jones (101) and Williams (91) are pretty even in snap counts over three games, with a logical touch disparity of 52-33 in favor of Jones. This is game better built for Rodgers to air it out.

WEEK 4 DFS LINEUPS:
DK cash | DK GPP | FD cash | FD GPPY! cash | Y! GPP

Start: WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling

He's the big-play threat outside to complement Adams. He had the 47-yarder against the Bears, and turned his 40-yards into a touchdown against the Broncos. He caught six-of-10 targets for 99 yards overall in Week 3 and is earning more trust from Rodgers by the week. Calvin Ridley and Marvin Jones had success stretching the field as No. 2s on the Eagles' corners.

Sit: WR Geronimo Allison

Other than his TD against the Vikings, the Packers' big slot has been an afterthought in the passing game. Even in a great matchup, you can't trust his small target share.

Sit: TE Jimmy Graham

Graham, like Allison, Valdes-Scantling and Williams, have caught TD passes from Rodgers ahead of Adams this season. But he's playing through multiple injuries again, and Malcolm Jenkins can keep him siilenced.

Sit: Packers D/ST

They've been terrific in three games, both getting after the quarterback and getting key turnovers. Wentz can hold on to the ball too long sometimes, and he'll be sacked once or thrice here, but it's best to avoid Green Bay against the best all-around offense they have faced early in the season.

Eagles-Packers: DraftKings Showdown lineup for Thursday night

Captain: Adams ($16,500)
FLEX: Rodgers ($10,800)
FLEX: Valdes-Scantling ($7,600)
FLEX: Sanders ($6,200)
FLEX: Jeffery ($8,200)
FLEX: Packers TE Robert Tonyan ($200)

This lineup reflects going all in on the Packers' passing game with the wild card of Tonyan, a hybrid who has the size and speed to blow past the Eagles' cornerbacks once for a potential long TD. That allowed us to super-stack Rodgers with his top wide receivers and get Sanders in there in a great matchup for him. Jeffery is who else we could afford from the Eagles to round things out.
