Cowboys vs. Giants concludes Week 9 with an NFC East matchup on Monday Night Football. It's a meeting of two of the NFL's top running backs, Saquon Barkley and Ezekiel Elliott. In putting together our DraftKings Showdown lineup for the single-game DFS slate, we were able to jam both those studs in. While I didn't sit down planning on having more Giants than Cowboys, that's what happened, and it's not a bad tournament strategy. This way, our lineup should be different than the majority of contestants, meaning that if we hit, we hit big.
It all starts with a WR in the captain slot, our favorite trend of late. We wound up going with Michael Gallup. The biggest way this backfires is if Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper link up on a lot of production, but we have to take that shot to have a good chance to cash.
DraftKings Showdown Picks: Cowboys vs. Giants
CAPTAIN (1.5x points, 1.5x price): WR Michael Gallup, Cowboys ($11,100)
Gallup fits my classic captain mold -- a solid second receiver with big-play potential. He has a shot to outscore top receiver Amari Cooper, and that's the play we're trying to make here. If that happens, the studs we can jam into the rest of our lineup should have us very high up the leaderboard.
FLEX: RB Ezekiel Elliott, Cowboys ($11,600)
We're going with both of the running backs in this game. It should be a ground-heavy game on both sides of the ball, and the two highest TD probabilties in this game belong to these two players.
FLEX: RB Saquon Barkley, Giants ($11,400)
Both these backs are also involved in the passing game, which we like as ensuring that they're involved no matter the gameflow.
FLEX: QB Daniel Jones, Giants ($8,000)
This price point is the one I selected last, and it came down to Jones or Evan Engram. I decided on Jones to stack with the offensive players we already have from the Giants, versus Engram, who would just cannabalize against our other G-men.
FLEX: WR Golden Tate, Giants ($6,800)
With Sterling Shepard out, Tate should continue his stretch of double-digit targets and provide a great floor-ceiling combo with his reception-heavy reputation. And as of late, he's had an end-zone connection with Jones.
FLEX: WR Cody Latimer, Giants ($800)
Latimer will be the third receiver for the Giants, and if they trail a bit early, he should see plenty of playing time and between three-to-five targets. That's more than you can say for anyone else this cheap in this game.
