DraftKings Week 7 Thursday Night Showdown: Picks, advice for Chiefs vs. Broncos NFL DFS image

Chiefs vs. Broncos means Patrick Mahomes is playing in Denver on Thursday Night Football in Week 7, an environment he balled out in during the 2018 season. With so much offensive firepower, it should be a high-scoring single-game slate on DraftKings in their Showdown DFS contests. With Chiefs in your daily fantasy football lineup, you're never out of it even with a slow start because they can strike quickly and put up points in a hurry. Tyreek Hill is back and looking healthy, too,

We're going with Hill as our captain, as the potential for huge chunk plays leading to a high GPP tournament finish are great with such a dynamic wide receiver. We know Kansas City will get him the football in a variety of ways, and after he was eased into it Sunday, expect him to be fully unleashed on Thursday night.

WEEK 7 NON-PPR RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

DraftKings Showdown Picks: Chiefs vs. Broncos

CAPTAIN (1.5x points, 1.5x price): WR Tyreek Hill, Chiefs ($16,800)

The best way to play Hill and Mahomes is to use Hill in the captain's slot. He caught two touchdowns in his first game back from injury, and his workload should increase to leading the Kansas City WRs in snaps after being fourth on Sunday. Hill actually didn't score against Denver last year -- Chris Harris is good -- but he has the best mix of floor and upside on the slate.

FLEX: TE Noah Fant, Broncos ($3,400)

Each week, Fant does something. It's yet to be an exciting amount of something, but at his price, a consistent low volume of targets makes him worth considering. The Chiefs have allowed the eighth-most fantasy points to tight ends in 2019, so Fant could be looking at the best game of his young career here, especially if Denver is forced to play catch up.

WEEK 7 PPR RANKINGS: Running backWide receiver | Tight end

FLEX: D/ST Kansas City Chiefs ($4,000)

I like the floor of playing the Chiefs in this matchup, as I expect them to limit Denver's offense to a low-scoring night. If they can create any turnovers or get sacks, that will just be a bonus. This lineup slot could also be pivoted to Byron Pringle ($2,800) if Sammy Watkins is out on Thursday, as I think Pringle will provide some production and have decent upside in that scenario. If you end up changing this to Pringle, you could play Mahomes as the captain and Hill as a FLEX to push the alternate combination further.

FLEX: K Brandon McManus ($3,600)

Give me the cheaper kicker in the thin air. Playing Matt Prater on Monday night paid off, as the worse offense in the game was forced to settle for a lot of kicks. That might happen again for McManus against the Chiefs.

WEEK 7 DFS LINEUPS:
Y! cash | Y! GPP | DK cash | DK GPPFD cash | FD GPP

FLEX: QB Patrick Mahomes ($12,000)

Fading Mahomes would only work if Denver controls the clock by running both of its backs into the ground, even then, Mahomes is such a quick-strike weapon that it might not matter. His ownership will be high, an unavoidable situation on the single-game slate, but you won't have any chance of cashing if Mahomes has a patented big game and you don't have him.

FLEX: TE Travis Kelce ($9,800)

I'm hoping that we can set this lineup apart by having Hill and Kelce. Most people will play one or the other, but the combo will be more unique. It's almost certain that he or Hill is the star of this game, and we've got both covered.
