DraftKings Week 5 Sunday Showdown: Picks, advice for Packers vs. Cowboys NFL DFS image

Packers vs. Cowboys headlines the Sunday slate of NFL games in Week 5, and it provides a perfect high-talent opportunity to play a single-game DFS contest. We have the picks and lineup advice you need for putting together a DraftKings Showdown lineup. The pricing on this slate allows for a lineup that includes all four of Aaron Rodgers, Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott and Aaron Jones.

We're coming off a high note of the Showdown season thus far, with Thursday night's lineup for Rams-Seahawks dominating the slate. For Sunday, we're replicating some of that structure by going with a receiver in the captain's slot while being sure to take the QBs from both teams, so we'll see if we can copy some of that success.

WEEK 5 NON-PPR RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

DraftKings Showdown Picks: Packers at Cowboys

CAPTAIN (1.5x points, 1.5x price): WR Randall Cobb, Cowboys ($8,400)

REVENGE GAME! The long-time Packers' slot weapon gets to face his former team and sets up for one of his bigger games of the season. Stud corner Jaire Alexander should stifle Amari Cooper on the outside, while Michael Gallup will probably be less than 100 percent. That leaves Cobb to work his revenge magic out of the slot and make a big play or two.

WEEK 5 PPR RANKINGS: Running back Wide receiver | Tight end

FLEX: RB Ezekiel Elliott, Cowboys ($11,600)

Dallas showed in Week 4 that even when the running game isn't going great, they won't abandon it. Elliott's probably going to lead this slate in touches, and while the Packers' defense has been solid, there's nothing inherently scary about its run defense. (Remember Jordan Howard last Thursday?) Elliott is worth his price tag.

WEEK 5 DFS LINEUPS:
Y! cash | Y! GPP | FD cash | FD GPP | DK cash | DK GPP

FLEX: QB Dak Prescott, Cowboys ($10,400)

We almost certainly lock in a part of every Dallas touchdown with the Dak-Zeke combination. There are enough weapons in Dallas and enough commitment to the play action for the Cowboys that even a shut-down Cooper shouldn't stop Prescott from having a good game. And if Cooper, who will probably be a popular play, has a good game, at least we'll have the Prescott half of it.

FLEX: QB Aaron Rodgers, Packers ($10,200)

Not often a future Hall of Famer coming off a 400-yard passing game is the lesser priced QB on a slate, but welcome to 2019 Rodgers. He's definitely worth this price point, though - there's not enough mid-tier value to be had here to go with any other strategy.

FLEX: RB Aaron Jones, Packers ($8,400)

Copying the strategy with Dallas -- we have a great shot at having a hand in every offensive touchdown on Sunday. Jones should see nearly every snap due to Jamaal Williams' absence, too, so he'll rival Elliott's workload in Week 5.

FLEX: TE Marcedes Lewis, Packers ($400)

We're taking a stab with Lewis. The Packers have run a decent number of two-TE sets in 2019, and now Davante Adams' absence means someone has to fill an increased role in the passing game. One or two Lewis catches would technically return value, but he has a decent shot at a touchdown with his likely snap count and allows a great lineup in the other five slots.
