Arsenal will look to secure their place in the semi-finals of the Europa League when they face CSKA Moscow in the second leg of their quarter-final tie on Thursday.

The Premier League side have a three-goal advantage from the first leg after winning 4-1 in London last week and they will endeavour to finish the tie off without fuss.

Arsene Wenger's side are on a good run of form and extended their winning streak to six games by beating Southampton 3-2 three days after their continental exploits.

CSKA Moscow, on the other hand, were evidently deflated by their heavy defeat at the Emirates as they succumbed to a 2-1 loss at home to rivals Dinamo Moscow.

Match Preview

Arsenal celebrate vs Southampton

Arsenal put in a strong performance in the first leg to establish a formidable lead over their Russian counterparts and Gunners fans will expect more of the same in Moscow.

They appear to have put their mid-season slump behind them, albeit much too late, but Wenger will be pleased with the likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Aaron Ramsey, who got the goals last Thursday, while Danny Welbeck delivered a man-of-the-match display over the weekend against Southampton.

It has become abundantly clear in the past few weeks, as a top-four finish becomes increasingly unlikely, that they need to win the Europa League if they are to rescue a disastrous campaign from total humiliation and that seems to have sharpened the focus of the north London men.

Indeed, having watched the mighty Barcelona fall to Roma in the Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday after boasting the same 4-1 lead, they are even more attuned to the fact that they cannot afford to take their eye off the prize on Thursday.

"The Europa League is important to us, everyone knows that. It is one of the big targets of the season now," Wenger told reporters ahead of the game. "I don't think we are under threat of complacency. We have a big job to do, but we are in a strong position. How we approach the game will be vital."
