We only know two things headed into the final week of the 2020 LCS Spring Split: Cloud9 is guaranteed to finish as the No. 1 overall seed with a dazzling 15-1 record (though they're not necessarily a great bet at their current odds), and Counter Logic Gaming will finish at the bottom of the standings with a 3-13 mark. The other eight North American teams have between six and nine wins, so most games this week will have an impact on how the final standings and playoff matchups shake out.
The big story this week is whether Team Liquid will qualify for the playoffs. The winners of the past four LCS titles are currently a game behind 100 Thieves and Immortals for the final spot in the Spring Split Playoffs, and they face the top two teams in the LCS this weekend in FlyQuest and Cloud9.

2020 LCS Spring Split Week 9: Team SoloMid vs. 100 Thieves
Team SoloMid -157
100 Thieves +126
There isn’t a more bipolar team in North America than Team SoloMid. When TSM are on, they can beat anyone in the region. They are the only team to deal Cloud9 a loss this season, and they have talented players at every position in their lineup. TSM have been inconsistent, though, and that led to an embarrassing loss against last-place Counter Logic Gaming and being on the wrong end of a sweep against Immortals.
While TSM are up and down, they should have the edge over 100 Thieves on Saturday. 100 Thieves are only 8-8 because of some hard-carry performances from top-laner Ssumday, and while mid-laner Ryoma has improved significantly over the course of the split, he is no match for TSM’s Bjergsen. As long as Broken Blade doesn’t get steam rolled in the top lane, TSM should pick up the win.
2020 LCS Spring Split Week 9: Cloud9 vs. Evil Geniuses
Cloud9 -278
Evil Geniuses +212
Over the past three weeks, Evil Geniuses have put it all together. They have won five straight games to move into a three-way tie for second place, and their bottom lane has been excellent. After a few hiccups early on, Bang and Zeyzal have formed one of the best bottom-lane duos in the LCS, and that is the primary win condition for EG.
No one knows what we’ll see from Cloud9 during the final week of the regular season. They locked up the No. 1 seed three weeks ago, and we saw a standard game and a not-so standard game from them last week. If they are focused and play a standard game, they will likely beat Evil Geniuses, but they are wont to have a little fun since this is the last week of the regular season. I’m guessing we’ll see some off-meta picks from them akin to Kalista top lane, and that makes EG the play at this price.
2020 LCS Spring Split Week 9: Team Liquid vs. FlyQuest
Team Liquid -127
FlyQuest -103
How the mighty have fallen. Liquid was an odds-on favorite to win the LCS Spring Split before the start of the season after bringing back four of five starters and improving in the jungle with the addition of Broxah. However, they are on the verge of completely missing the playoffs, as they have dealt with complacency throughout the Spring Split. Doublelift has not been as reliable as he usually is in the bottom lane, and Impact is not the rock in the top lane he has been for this team over the past few years.
Liquid knocked off FlyQuest in the first meeting between these teams back on Feb. 2, and they should emerge victorious once again with their playoff hopes on the line. FlyQuest are in a bit of disarray with Solo replacing V1per in the top lane last week, and the only player that has consistently played well is mid-laner PowerOfEvil.
2020 LCS Spring Split Week 9: Golden Guardians vs. Counter Logic Gaming
Golden Guardians -160
Counter Logic Gaming +127
The Guardians’ slim playoff hopes ride on them going 2-0 in the final week of the regular season. They have not inspired confidence with their play over the past month though, posting a 2-6 record with their only victories coming against Dignitas and Immortals. Their bottom lane has been a mess as they continue to try to play non-supports at support, so CLG have a decent chance of pulling off the upset despite their poor campaign.
2020 LCS Spring Split Week 9: Immortals vs. Dignitas
Immortals -160
Dignitas +127
Reuniting Apollo and Hakuho has made Immortals much stronger than when Altec was paired with Hakuho in the bottom lane. Apollo has an 8.2 KDA in six games, and he has become the hard carry for this team. That’s something they’ve needed as the other positions have struggled to make an impact with their play.
Dignitas continue to underperform. It’s becoming clear that Huni is no longer the top-lane bully he once was in this region, and the bottom lane has fallen off after some strong performances early in the split. Froggen can be a difference maker if he is allowed to select Orianna, but don’t expect Immortals to leave the champion open.
