Three weeks of high-flighting action all comes down to this, as the final of the PDC World Darts Championship gets underway at Alexandra Palace in London. The lively Ally Pally crowd have been treated to some sensational matches at this tournament, and it's hard not to be on the edge of your seat given the finale we've got in store.
Two Lukes will do battle for the Sid Waddell trophy on Wednesday, January 3. "Cool Hand" Luke Humphries is the new world No. 1 after storming past Scott Williams 6-0 in their semifinal, and the 28-year-old is on the hunt for a first-ever World Championship title.
In his way stands a man — well, a boy — who has shaken this tournament to its very foundation and has the world of darts at his feet: 16-year-old Luke Littler. The Warrington-based teenager, nicknamed "The Nuke", has been devastatingly good on his way to the final, storming past former champions and greats of the sport alike — all while hardly breaking a sweat.
After a 6-2 comeback victory over 2018 champion Rob Cross in their semifinal, unseeded tournament debutant Littler has swept aside all competition from the qualifiers to the biggest stage of all in this sport. Can he go all the way against the world No. 1?
It's set to be an absolutely unmissable finale at Ally Pally, and we're certainly along for the ride. Make sure you are too, with all the details you need to follow the spellbinding action of this headline tournament.
